Svedska kraljevska glazbena akademija dodijelila je nagradu Polar 2006, koju jos nazivaju i glazbenim nobelom, britanskoj rock-skupini Led Zeppelin te ruskom dirigentu Valeriju Gergijevu. Nagradu Polar osnovao je 1989. Stig Anderson, bivši elan akademije i producent slavne svedske skupine ABBA. Led Zeppelini su nagradjeni za svoju "spontanu i eksperimentalnu glazbu kombiniranu s jakim elektricnim elementima", pojasnio je ziri svoju odluku. "Njihova glazba ima dvije bitne teme: misticizam i primarnu energiju", istice ziri, dodavajuci da su Led Zeppelini "jedni od najvecih pionira rocka".
Ruski dirigent Valerij Gergijev dobio je nagradu Polar za svoj "jedinstveni, elektrificirajuci i duboki talent", ocijenio je ziri.

KAKO SU DOBILI IME 
Postoji zgodna anegdota o tome kako je bend dobio ime:
mjesto bubnjara (koje je kasnije dobio bonham) prvo je bilo ponudjeno Keithu Moonu (legendarom bubnjaru grupe the who). No kad je Moon cuo kako zvuce rekao je da ce propasti kao olovni cepelin kasnije su se decki iz zezencije prozvali led zeppelin.
