(5) microwave transformer spark discharge - low energy mode here is what i get using a tiny SEGA MASTER SYSTEM mains adapter, a simple relay chopper, and also adding 1mH inductor (which indeed doubles the spark length). the zap is noticeable acoustically, and might be uncomfortable to experience by touching. it might be well over 10Kv periodically. the inductor has no problems with arcing etc., tough it is only very thin wire, and rated for low voltage. this is because the microwave transformer is used in low energy mode (powering the filament winding). this should always be done for experiements, do not directly connect it to mains (then the output is positively deadly). !DANGER! all experiments with microwave transformers are dangerous. however, only using the filament windind as input (low voltage, low energy) is less dangerous and likely not potentially lethal (tough a contact could produce uncanny, stunning results). always only use one hand, never two hands, to avoid a body path for electric current. no matter what, always follow this rule.
