Manufacturer: Nissan Diesel Phils. Corp.
Model: Space Arrow Euro Tour
Chassis: Nissan Diesel JA520RAN
Engine: Nissan Diesel RF8
*Specifications are subjected for verification and may be changed without prior notice.
----------------------------------------------
Nissan Diesel Philippines Corporation (NDPC) with manufacturing base in Sta. Rosa City Laguna was established in 1991 to produce buses for the Philippine market. A capital of 150 million pesos, the percentage invested in Nissan Diesel is 48.5%. In 1996, the capital grew to 186 million pesos. At stake is 30% of Nissan Diesel, 13% of Subaru-FHI, and 12% of Nichimen Co. Ltd.
The model "Eurotrans" later became known as "Euro Bus" was developed from the technical provision of the Belgian Jonckheere Corporation, based on the high decker tourist bus "Deauville" of the said company. Aluminum and Fiber-Reinforced Plastics (FRP) was adapted to its body structure to achieve high performance cost. The JA340SAN model was produced for the domestic market, equipped with PE6T (290PS) engine and with variants set with leaf-spring suspension. The export models on the other hand are equipped with V8 engines such as the JA520RAN which was equipped with RF8 (310PS) engine, while the high-power output version, the JA530RAN was equipped with RG8 (350PS) engine.
Since 1996, NDPC produced hi-decker type large tourist buses for Japan. However, the final step was to produce a bus from Subaru-FHI body was done after importation, which at that time had manufactured the Nissan Diesel bus body at the Isesaki factory.
Rental bus demand declined significantly due to the widespread use of aircraft in excursions, the JA system which appears in the time when more practical large-sized tourist models was required for the bus enterprise was observed. At the beginning, a large opportunity was the low-cost edition models and was released one after another even from other competitors. As for the large customers, the Airport Transport Service Co. (Friendly Airport Limousine) ordered upto 100 units or more in large quantities at one time, therefore clearing the annual sales target of 40 units. Left-hand drive models were also exported to countries such as China and supposedly Sri Lanka, some of the last batches were acquired by Zhuhai Golf Club in Guangdong, China.
However, due to the shrinking demand for tourist buses brought by the Asian financial crisis, and the difficulty of exporting from the Philippines, the joint venture has been dissolved on December 31, 2001. Though the production of domestic models continued on thru Santa Rosa Motor Works Inc. which introduced the RB46S model, equipped with PE6T (290PS) engine and the 2008 limited edition JA450SSN model, equipped with PF6A (320PS) engine.
Ever since, the Euro Bus has been the basis of countless Philippine bus manufacturers for their designs, replicas has been spreading out from one region to another, but none has been as popular as the Euro Bus replica built by Del Monte Motor Works Inc. which is also a key player in the Philippine bus manufacturing industry, the replica was released as an aftermarket model, therefore becoming more flexible for the consumers. Hino RF821 equipped with EK100 (295PS) engine was the common models aside from the usual Nissan Diesel ones.
However, inspite of the success, the Euro bus itself is likely to be phased out, with the introduction of its potential successor, the Santa Rosa Modulo Series (also based on another Jonckheere model), its era is not far from being over.

Hand carved AK-47 Rifle Stock - Tru Oil finish
This is a 5.56 single shot Ak47 replica that I carved last year. The dark wood is Snake Wood (very hard) and the light is Sugar Maple with some excellent figure.
I finished it with about 15 coats of Tru-Oil gun stock oil finish. I don't know what I would do without that stuff; it is better than any other finish I have ever used.
What I bought with my Oil Stock Dividends
Ok, just kidding. I wish I had oil stock. Seriously though, she looks like a tank (a bright, friendly, happy tank) but is actually shorter than medium-sized SUVs.
It's my first new car ever, so I went with something that made me smile. and can climb over buildings.
Her name is "Scout".

An old joke at Apple is that Steve Jobs is surrounded by a reality distortion field that makes you believe what he says if you get too close! Joke or not, there is no doubt that Steve Jobs has made believers of tens if not hundreds of millions of people around the world.
So I thought Reality Distortion would be an appropriate title for this image. This was a window on a building across a street in Cupertino, California, the worldwide headquarters of Apple. The reflection is of the building behind me. Below is another shot of it that includes a tree on a divider in the middle of the road.
Test shot with Leica APO TELYT-R 280/4 lens + Novoflex adapter + SONY NEX-5. All shot @ f/4, hand-held, focus by looking at the full image on the LCD (not live view at pixel-level). Needless to say, the quality of the reflections is determined by the planarity of the window glass, and not the optics of the lens!

Reality Show
Reality show. Que bonito es ser idiota y pobre"
