Model model model Model Village, Bourton-on-the-Water

The Model Village is a model of the village in which it is located, Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds, and the Model Village is included in it.

Bourton-on-the-Water was once (and is still described as) a village. Alas, from the 1950's onwards its charms were too much to resist for mass tourism and the commercial interests that feed on it, and it has turned completely into a tourist resort. One is reminded of California's Disney World, except that when a theme park reaches its maximum capacity of some 70,000 "visitors", the entrances are closed to preserve breathing space inside. Bourton has no such restrictions on overcrowding. In fact it was permitted to add a zoo, a model village, a perfumery and even a motor museum to draw in even larger crowds.

Fikardou village, Cyprus (????? ??????)

A small village that has been made popular by a Cypriot comedy TV series and a lot of people are visiting it.

During the winter it has only 4 inhabitants (though there are more people staying there during their summer holidays). I'm guessing that the houses in the photo above must be the inhabited ones and the houses in the photo below (in the comments) are the ones that are empty.

The village has been declared an ancient monument and carefully restored to preserve the 18th century houses with their remarkable woodwork and folk architecture. It has received the Europa Nostra Award in 1987.

The Cypriot comedy TV series ????? ?????? (Aigia Fuxia) shows the life in Cyprus 100 years ago and its main plot is about the mystery when 15 people died on the same day and nobody knows why.
