When we decided to take our first step towards an innovative solar installation, we thought it best to award the job to one of the established solution providers..This project would be one of the first MW-scale Floating projects in India for the Indian Private sector. We congratulate Hindustan Zinc Limited for taking a step towards green energy transition and we look forward to participating in more such innovative projects in the country.Mr Ravindra Goyal, Head- EPC Sales, Vikram Solar, said on the occasion, "We are honoured to be chosen by Hindustan Zinc Limited to execute this project. It is expected to be commissioned by July 2019. The plant will be located at Ghosunda Dam, Near Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The Company has recently concluded a 130 MW for NTPC at Bhadla (Rajasthan), 80 MW for GIPCL at Charanka (Gujarat), 40 MW for IL&FS at Kachaliya (Madhya Pradesh), and is known for its innovative projects and airport installations. The company has delivered green energy solutions to Government entities such as- NTPC, APGENCO, GIPCL, BEL, BHEL, WBSEDCL, ISRO, IOCL, SBI, and AAI etc."Mr Arun Vijayakumar, Director Projects, Hindustan Zinc Limited has expressed, "Hindustan Zinc Limited has always contributed to Indian green energy shift and Floating Solar plant is one such initiative. The solar plant is expected to have bolt sleeve anchor an energy yield of 1993 MWh/Year and would be able to power 1400 Houses/Year.Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturer and a prominent rooftop solar & EPC solutions provider has bagged the project order for a 1 MW Floating solar plant for Hindustan Zinc Limited."Vikram Solar is spearheading India’s solar revolution with over 950MW EPC capacity portfolio including Commissioned and Under Execution, Rooftop and Ground-mounted projects. The floating plant will contribute to saving water evaporation loss, thus resulting in conservation of water, reduce the development of algae, maintaining cleanliness of the water, and will obviously save land space.
