 Revolutionary War hero John Paul Jones, with his ship burning and about to sink, was asked by the British commander whether he wished to surrender. I have not i have not yet begun to fight begun to fight! was his emphatic response.  He went on to victory.

When our circumstances seem bleak, the prayer answers havent yet arrived, and the devil is demanding our surrender, we need to respond as Jones did: I have not yet begun to fight!  Victory is just french horn the corner, though we seem to be in our darkest hour.  Pray on, in Jesus Name.  War on, in Jesus Name.  Our God has not forgotten us. Those who persevere will also prevail.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. – 1 John 5:4

Now thanks be to God, Who always causes us to triumph in Christ…. – 2 Corinthians 2:14
