Pasquale Capone, figaro di qualita e vera e propia istituzione cittadina. Nella piccola e centalissima bottega, convergono quasi tutti i cittadini eminenti di Amsterdam che, immersi in un'atmosfera distesa e amichevole, sgranocchiando biscotti e bevendo vino blanco, dimenticano lo stress e le fatiche quotidiane.
Secondo Pasquale, un barbieri che si rispetti deve anche aver cura d'anime, offrendo al suoi clienti non solo mani esperte, ma cervello fino, compresione e calore umano.


RETORNO A LA EDAD DE ORO.-

La ciudad Holandesa de Amsterdam conmemorara durante nueve meses el esplendor del siglo XVII.
-Justo al lado del Amsterdam Historical Museum (Museo de la Historia de Amsterdam) se encuentra la Begijnenhof ( El Noviciado), un irregular espacio donde las armonicas casas que datan del 1578 se acompanan de un cesped de color verde reventon. Fue lugar de acogida y retiro paa aquellas jovenes novicias que dejaban la vida activa.
El rincon, al que se llega traspasando un arco, continua sumergido en un imponente silencio, que solo altera la presencia de quienes no se quieren perder esta bella ISLA adoquinada, en medio de bicicletas, gentes y tranvias. Poco antes de atravesar el arco, en la Bejijnensteeg, la barberia del italiano Figaro Pasquale, centro de reunion social tanto de quienes se ponen en sus manos como de los que no lo hacen. Pasquale PRESUME de ofrecer el mejor cafe a sus clientes, y estos, de acudir al mejor peluquero.


** PASQUALE CAPONE ** Is a natural phenomenon, one of the city's cultural landmarks. His babers shop in the Begijnensteeg is a meeting place for the "who's who" of Amsterdam male population, where conversations is washed down with coffe, wine an Italian snacks to the music o Locatelli.

"I moved here en 1961 because I had a Dutch girlfriend an I've been here ever since. I'm happy every day - at least 90% happy! Amsterdam is the most beatiful Italian city outside Italy; the area between Spui and Rokin is the most gorgeous part of it, and between Dam square and the Munt is the Living Room of the World ! The multicultural mix of people, you see people here from all over the world.

You must engage yourself, be involved with the city, be active." (He is currently campaigning for the windows who live in the Begijnhof, who have been told that the new street cleaning machines will not reach into their courtyard.) que al cordon de mi zapato lo destroza con placer.

estimated around 30km away from Arrezo..just outside the small town of San Giustino Valdarno lies Il Borro. A resort unlike any other since the rooms are located inside an actual medieval town. and we are not talking average rooms, we're talking kitchen full bath king size beds upstairs downstairs..we're talking straight out villa. The property is owned by fashion magnate Salvatore Ferragamo and has its own wine cellar..one of the few that withstood the damages from WWII. The medievil town was abandoned at one point, after the purchase of the property, they renovated the old town..added some roofs, windows, cleaned up inside and now its a popular spot for people to get married at. There were 2 weddings happening during our stay. If you're up for something out in the country and you have the legs to walk it (the rooms lie up top of a pretty steep hill) I highly recommend checking this place out.

its worth noting that if you book a room, you get a free box of wine. (one which i had to carry around all over Italy...but that's a story for another picture)

after explaining all about this place, i did not choose to show the whole place..for good reason too (too many trees) but i did want to show the details, particularly in the walls..its a mix of the original medievil architecture (most of which was destoryed during WWII) and after. take note of the smooth (modern) and the cobbly-stoned walls (original). all in all they did a great job bringing out what the rustic vibe this area feeds off of. I will post a shot of the place we stayed at real soon...very cool :)
