La Derničre Séance (The Final Screening), Annette Messager It was great to get inside the old cannon cinema on Lime Street to see this installation in one of the smaller downstairs cinemas. The piece itself was a bit disappointing though. I liked the slowly inflating and undulating silk sheet over the cinema seats but the stuff on the stage certainly doesn't match the description from the biennial website: "behind the cinema screen we see the shadowy silhouette of a dangling skeleton. Messager transports us to a world before cinema, where ‘smoke and mirrors’ are used to generate phantasmagoric visions" I think the last film I saw in here was Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
