this is one of 70 or so on 8 x 8 inch wood panel. i think i started the series three years ago. i ababndoned them not long afterwards because they were weak and bored me. recently i was offered a show at soma on main st. i was going to rework them over a 7 day studio marathon. the show fell through, and so i've more time to play around to give them life. i don't mind this one. the form in the center was bare wood, which i intended to stain. but on impulse i used a chrimson felt marker..i also had drawn all over the image with fine tipped black marker. it looked okay, but oddly enough, no energy. too lazy to go downstairs into my storage locker for xylene, i used carpet cleaner to dilute and smudge the marker around., looked okay. then decided to add some white paint, then grey, then teal, then black and so on. this is it finished.
Dusting
Hazel pulled out the duster and started dusting. Funny thing is, I just got that duster and have only used it a few times. Yesterday, she got hold of a Q-tip and tried to shove it in her ear, and this morning found some paper towel and started rubbing the carpet with it (seems like that is all we use paper towel for anymore, to clean up stains on the carpet!).
