House Relocation on Barges
The house relocation was done to make room for the construction of Kanawha Boulevard in Charleston, West Virginia. These riverfront houses were moved off the high north bank of the Kanawha River to similar high bank locations on the south side. That is the reason for the very high truss-like structure built to approximate the height of the riverbank. A small sternwheel river towboat seems to be managing the barges very well.
