Cord Camera - Empty
This is a photo of what was the compact P&S camera area at the Cord Camera location on 5th Avenue in Columbus Ohio (which is pretty much their flagship store and the ONLY store that carries some pro gear), needless to say I'll be suprised if they are able to keep the doors open until the end of July.
While I feel sad for folks loosing their jobs (although the writing has been on the wall at Cord Camera for literally years in my opinion), I don't feel sorry at all for the company and it's head honcho Steve Cordle who I think drove the company into it's present condition.
They could have adapted and downsized but they didn't.... and thinking that scrapbooking income would replace the lost revenue from the fall off in photo processing and camera sales was just a complete joke and shows how clueless their executive management was...
Chick's Camera, Columbus, OH
a nice change of pace after all the closed photo stores I've seen in Pittsburgh, Boston, etc.
