Guitar Man
The snow in the Northeast let up long enough for a reception for an art exhibit opening at Academy Square in Montclair, New Jersey - an office building that used to be a secretarial school - to be held. Academy Square has a partnership with a group of local fine artists in which it displays their work in the building's halls.
This guitar player was at the reception, performing tasteful tunes on his amplified classical guitar.
I didn't take pictures of the art itself. A picture of a picture? And the sculptures at the exhibit didn't appeal to me as much.
Movember mustache!
My "movember mustache"! Well I did not follow the rules per say as I came to know about it in late November. But I was already growing a bread since the beginning of November. So I decided to call it the Movember mo.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. [223/365]
+5 in comments! :)
I didn't take this picture, Matt St.George took it (thank you!!!) but I just love it too much not to use it as my 365. :)
Safe grad was amazing. I'm not even kidding. It was great!!!
There was so much to do! Everything was decorated so well, it was gorgeous!!
I don't even know where to start!!
When we entered the school, there were paintings of dancers on the walls, Elvis Presley records, posters of Marilyn Monroe, and everything was so bright and flashy! There were dollar signs hanging from the ceiling, along with cards. The decorations were absolutely out of hand. So beautiful. Like, I couldn't BELIEVE that this is my school! Like, I have to go back here tomorrow to go to school!!! What's up with that??? Haha, it's going to be so weird!!
As we explored the school we found that the art room had transformed into a kindergarten room, with a sandbox, dinkies, coloring sheets. The Foods room had a huge guitar on the wall with CD's hanging from the wall with each graduate's name on a CD! They also had hot dogs, chicken wraps, chocolate bars, milkshakes, and all kinds of yummy food in there! We then went to the cafeteria and it was totally transformed into a casino!!! There were card tables everywhere with volunteers dressed up in suits with Casino name tags on waiting by the blackjack and roulette tables. There was a huge backdrop set up with $ signs everywhere, like huge ones! There was a king and queen card thing done up where you can stick your head in! It was deadly! There was also lots and lots of food in there!! Nachos and cheese, pizza, slushies, mmmmm!
We then left the cafeteria and noticed the Biology lab is now a fortune teller room!! I've had my fortune told before(when I went to grad with Andrew in level one), and I tell ya, the fortune was really accurate. Everything she said was true and/or came true. It was freeeeeaky! So I had to sign up to get it done again. When I got my fortune done this time it was pretty vague. She told me that I can go places and do very special things with my talent. A lot of people peak in high school, but I'm just going to get better and better with what I do as years go on, and when I'm 75 people are going to look at me and say "Wow, she's a class act." She also told me that I have a bit of a psychic ability myself, and I get vibes of people, and for me to trust those vibes. It was interesting!
We explored more and more, and we then found a "game room" per say, and sing star and DDR was in there! My favorite!!!! :D I won an award for singstar too. Hehe. :) I sang "I will survive" with Meghan, hahah it was awesome.
We walked down to the end of the hallway, and the math wing was made over into a HAUNTED HOUSE. I wanted to go really bad, but by the time it was my turn they had to take a pee break, and then the hypnotist came so I didn't get a chance! (I'll write more about the hypnotist in a minute!)
By the office we found this wedding chapel, where me and Colin decided to get hitched. Haha, remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. ;)
There's one more room I forgot to describe! The gym!!! There was a bouncy castle♥, jousting, and sumo suits!!! I got in the sumo suits with Dylan, hahah he totally kicked my ass but it was totally worth it. I loved looking at Colin from inside that humongous suit and saying "Does this outfit make me look fat?" hahahahha. There was also a cotton candy machine in there, and ping pong tables. :D
NOW! One more thing! The hypnotist!! He was AMAZING. He asked for volunteers to go up on the stage, I volunteered but he unfortunately didn't see me, but I'm kind of glad that he didn't pick me because watching the show itself was amazing. Anyone who was there would certainly agree with me!! Funniest thing I've ever seen in my life. I wish I had of taped it. He had everyone hypnotized, and I can't even describe it. You'd have to go see a show. It will be totally worth it and it's so funny.
I had so much fun this weekend.
Thanks Colin for being my date I love you so much.
Thanks everyone just for everything.
I loved hanging out with everyone.
I think after exams are over we should all have a sleepover!! (I'm talking to everyone who was at Meghan's house getting pictures!!!) ♥
I wish I could do this again!!!
Anyone who's thinking they don't want to go to their grad, just go. Honestly. You will see everyone else's pictures, and you will most likely regret it. It's so fun, and it's just a weekend of high school, where it's nothing but fun, hosted by the school. Incredible, really. Colin never went to his grad, so he was super happy to be with me this weekend. He just says to me "At least I went to a grad now!" haha. :)
I'm going to stop rambling now!
I love you guys!!!!! ♥

The guitar was placed floating over an orange sheet of plastic. A simple flash on tripod with equipped with a softbox hang over the head (the distance was about 30cm / 1 feet for a rather sharp reflection. The flash was triggered with a an on-camera Speedlite 430 EX. The on-camera flash was set to manual power because the external flash would fire on the E-TTL preflash. The exposure time was set to the fastest possible speed to cancel out ambient reflections. Subtle color and level adjustments were made in Photoshop. I spend a lot of time cleaning up the dust that was amplified by the high powered main light.

If we talk about Memo today, we talk about a living legend, we talk about versatility, passion, riskiness and above all elegance. He is, and always has been, ahead of the times.
Posssesing an impressive technique and an almost impossible style to classify, Memo is a master of scratch and turntablism and one of the most diverse and prolific djs Spain has to offer. With a wide range of musical styles and sounds, anything Memo touches, he becomes… whether it be techno, minimal, electro, tech house, breaks or Nu rave, electronic B boy funk or dancefloor destruction – Memo IS music. Starting out in 1992 when Spain was involved with the Olympic Games and the Expo92 conference, a 12 year old boy began playing the guitar and singing in a rap metal group which he did alongside his piano studies at the anterquera city music conservatory. It was around this time he had the desire to introduce electronic soundbites into his band compositions and Memo discovered and fell in love with scratching and the turntable – the true culprit for his introduction into the world of electronic beats. In 1994 Memo left the band to start his dj career in a time when Spain was experiencing its first southern rave wave. He took no time to gather a loyal following and around 15 monthly sets throughout the country where he rapidly toned his skills and techniques along with a visually amazing show. To see Memo live is to witness both a visually and auditory electronic odessey in motion. After 14 years in the industry, Memo should be considered as one of the major players on the scene and has passed through an infinity of booths and clubs in his native Spain and also abroad. He has clocked up three appearances at Space (Ibiza), one of them being at the highly renowned night of Carl Cox and each time playing live and alongside the likes of Derrick May and Adam Freeland. Other clubs have been, Privilege (Ibiza), Catwalk, Zen club, Moog, Kubik (Bcn), Industrial Copera, as well as various festivals: Esparragorock, F.I.M.E.S. festivalia, Eurosounds, Rocketfestival, TribalNation, Flashback, BreakNation, Live Dance Festival. Overseas, he has played at Stereo bar (Berlin), 54, Cafe 1001 and Public Life in London, PALAFITOS in the Domincan Republic, and SHAGA (Mexico). He has shared the line up with some of the world’s finest producers, djs and groups including Prodigy, Cristal method, Orbital, Public Enemy, Carl Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Jeff Mills among many many others. On a production level, Memo’s creations have already found their way into the hearts and bags of world class artists such as Carl Cox. Currently Memo directs his own studio in Barcelona and a two headed label BOAYER and PornoSchool Records whose first release ‘12345678910’ in 2006 received critical aclaim from Alexander Kowalski who slotted the track in at number 1 on his charts. In the last couple of years he has edited for various labels such as 4line records, Digital Bonus, Subtronic, Nautral Break, and started this year with the e.p ‘Raices’ on Indigo Raw records – featured on Carl Cox’s Ibiza 2009 compilation CD. Remixes for Pig and Dan (Cocoon) and a remix for the Dylan Ryhmes tune ‘Kemptown’ on the mythical label LOT 49 and sharing disco with artists such as Meat Katie, Pablo Decoder and Sharoz…

Dressed in costumes that represent more than 100 nations, the dolls sing the "it's a small world" song lyrics in 5 languages. Boundaries dissolve and continents are connected by this singular song. After all, this attraction—first designed for the 1964 New York World's Fair—has Walt Disney's personal touch.
The Song Heard 'Round "it's a small world"
The original concept for "it's a small world" had the dolls singing the national anthem from each country they represented. A good idea in theory, but everyone singing a different tune resulted in a musical cacophony that clearly weakened the attraction's theme of harmony.
In the mid-1960s, Walt Disney interrupted staff composers Robert and Richard Sherman's work on the score for the upcoming Disney film, Mary Poppins, to write the single theme song for "it's a small world."
Robert and Richard Sherman's first version of the "it's a small world" song was written as a ballad. Walt requested something more cheerful, so the song was sped up and sung as a round, or roundelay.
Because of the repetition and because the Sherman Brothers used a musical technique called counterpoint, where the same chords are played over and over again but with different melodies, the song they wrote is catchy and unforgettable.
At the first presentation to Walt Disney, Robert and Richard Sherman performed "it's a small world" song while walking through a scale model of the attraction, singing and clapping their hands. Walt was delighted.
In full spirit of international unity, "it's a small world" song was recorded in various studios around the world. The song was sung by a church choir in London, TV performers in Mexico City, a school chorus in Rome, Italy, and by children from Tokyo, Japan and Burbank, California.

Haywire Custom Guitars Golden Natural Strat 5 Super Tone
Description-Haywire Custom Guitars-Rick Mariner-USA
Steve Lukather has been a force in the music industry for many years. Luke, as his friends call him, began playing the six string at the age of seven. By nine, he was handling blues scales and Hendrix solos; by eleven Luke was already earning money with his talent, performing on the party circuit around L.A. His high school bandmates formed a group eventually known as TOTO, which sold more than twenty million records worldwide. Steve has also lent his signature sound to countless studio and session projects.
The Haywire ASP (Active Steve Lukather Pro) pays homage to this extraordinary player. It features EMG Pro Series SLV actives pickups. This pickup was designed for Steve Lukather and is available only in this "Pro Series" system, or if you buy an Ernie Ball "Luke" model. The SLV is an over-wound version of the SAV pickup and features hidden pole pieces. The over-winding creates an even fatter tone.

Stairway Session
Taken the other i was practicing. Learning this song has been about 8 years in the making, ever since i first picked up the guitar. There have been a lot of set backs in getting it down. I hope to continue to get it near perfection sometime. Since it is the song that got me into playing music. I always like to pick up my axe and lose myself in whatever comes out of my fingers...
