I have lost friends, some by death... others through sheer inability to cross the street.
In our civilization, and under our republican form of government, intelligence is so highly honored that it is rewarded by exemption from the cares of office.
I barely had time to register them before those rifles were pointed at me.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.
At a dinner party one should eat wisely but not too well, and talk well but not too wisely.
The real hero is always a hero by mistake; he dreams of being an honest coward like everybody else.
