365-152 (Dammit! Where was my thinking cap when I needed it?)
I spent my morning chasing Stevie Harper around and when I finally figured out where he was going to be for his expected announcement, the secret service told me I wasn't allowed inside. Only accredited media was allowed. Dammit. I used to be media, but now I'm an NDP spy, so I knew I couldn't tell them who I really was. I noticed a window was open a crack in the room where he was speaking, so I went over and tried to listen in. No dice. Then it occurred to me that I have my old CBC ID in my purse! Oh dear. I realize it's expired, but it could have worked. Goddamit. Why can't I think on my feet?
As it turned out, I had a few friends at the announcement, so I just got a quick debrief from them afterwards. Then I reported back to Jack Layton's "people." It was fun being a spy -- I even wore dark sunglasses and scarf so I could conceal my identity, just in case.
Cyborgs Among Us!
My nephew is showing me his awesome new spy shades. Apparently, there is a digital camera on the side of these glasses that he activates with the hand-held trigger. I suppose the pics can be downloaded to a computer. I don't remember having toys this cool when I was his age (and that probably makes me sound old...ouch). I can't help but smile at the missing tooth, as well. He has a gap on the bottom row to match!
