Apprenticeship Week launch in Yorkshire and Humber
To demonstrate the diverse breadth of apprenticeships now available, automotive apprentice Tom Illingworth (18) from York and equestrian apprentice, Abigail Johnston (19) from Leeds, were pictured along with Rosie Winterton, the Minister for Yorkshire and The Humber and David Way, deputy chief executive for the National Apprenticeship Service.
Apprenticeship of Colonel Whitin
The New Deal relief "Apprenticeship of Colonel Whitin" hangs in the whitinsville Post Office. Commissioned in 1939, it depicts the Whitin family's four sons. The artist Milton Horn was awarded the Tiffany Foundation Fellowship fourteen year earlier.
