VACCINE STORAGE REFRIGERATORS : VACCINE STORAGE
Vaccine Storage Refrigerators : Avanti Microwave Refrigerator.
Vaccine Storage Refrigerators
- (refrigerator) white goods in which food can be stored at low temperatures
- An appliance or compartment that is artificially kept cool and used to store food and drink. Modern refrigerators generally make use of the cooling effect produced when a volatile liquid is forced to evaporate in a sealed system in which it can be condensed back to liquid outside the refrigerator
- A refrigerator is a cooling apparatus. The common household appliance (often called a "fridge" for short) comprises a thermally insulated compartment and a heat pump—chemical or mechanical means—to transfer heat from it to the external environment (i.e.
- (Refrigerator (horse)) Refrigerator was an Appendix Quarter horse racehorse who won the Champions of Champions race three times. He was a 1988 bay gelding sired by Rare Jet and out of Native Parr.
- A substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease
- A program designed to detect computer viruses, and inactivate them
- (vaccinated) immunized: having been rendered unsusceptible to a disease
- (vaccination) inoculation: taking a vaccine as a precaution against contracting a disease
- immunogen consisting of a suspension of weakened or dead pathogenic cells injected in order to stimulate the production of antibodies
- storehouse: a depository for goods; "storehouses were built close to the docks"
- the commercial enterprise of storing goods and materials
- The action or method of storing something for future use
- The retention of retrievable data on a computer or other electronic system; memory
- the act of storing something
- Space available for storing something, esp. allocated space in a warehouse
Electrolux Design Lab - Vaccines have never been cooler
Contemporary vaccination storage is a complicated business made simpler by Juan Camilo Garcia Ramirez’s elegant concept. The “Vaccine Refrigerator” is divided into three compartments that hold more than 1,000 doses of vaccines and antivenins. The different compartments can be set to different temperatures allowing the storage of several different types of vaccines and antivenins in the same appliance. The refrigerator uses a magnetic refrigeration technique and a water-cooling system. This means that it can cool the contents very quickly after being opened while using less energy than the refrigerators of today.

Ashden Awards — PV-Powered Vaccine Fridges
by KXN Nigeria Ltd
Unless vaccines are kept cool (around 3°C) from the point of manufacture until final use, they deteriorate. In remote health centres the electricity supply is unreliable or non-existent; diesel generators are expensive and need a reliable supply of fuel.
KXN provides a vaccine refrigeration system with very high levels of insulation, so it needs little electricity to keep the contents cool. Solar PV modules are used to supply power, with lead-acid batteries for electricity storage, enabling continuous operation night and day. To date they have installed over 700 solar-powered vaccine refrigerators in Northern Nigeria.
