this is what your dress should look like, the shoulders still attached with the ties in place to sew.

8. sewing the dress back up.

fold the back of the dress over, so the right sides are facing, and pin, making sure that the ties are out of the way. sew the two sides together.

cut smaller sleeves out, making sure that they are about a 1/2" larger than the arm hold. sew the sleeve together, and then hem the edge.

9. sew on the sleeve

place and pin the sleeve, starting with the side seams, or the armpit. if you have any excess fabric, add a little pleat at the shoulder. sew the sleeve on, making sure to overlap slightly and backstitch.

after you hem the bottom of the dress you have yourself a sweet little shirt dress.
