The Garden Wall: A Story of Love Based on I Corinthians 13
The warm sun falls on Petra's smiling face as she breathes in the delicious smells of roses, daisies, pansies and forget-me-nots. What could be more beautiful than a flower? When she announces to her friend Seth that she wants to grow her own garden, he agrees to help her by building a wall to protect the delicate flowers from harm. But it's not as easy as they think. Sometimes they don't get along, and the work is even harder then they imagined. Should they just give up? Will the flowers ever bloom? Can their friendship last when disaster strikes the garden? The answers lie within Petra and Seth and within The Garden Wall. In this engaging children's story, healthy friendship grows into committed love as Seth and Petra build a beautiful garden and the wall that protects it. The words of 1 Corinthians 13 carved into the expanding wall are practical in all relationships - with friends, in school, in families. Anyone who chooses to mirror these 14 qualities can expect good results as they grow relationships into deep, trusting, lasting friendships. Use this book to open doors of communication with your children as you teach them the very important lessons regarding healthy, loving relationships.
The Garden Wall
After a day of storms the sun strikes the Garden Wall above Lake Josephine.
The Garden Wall forms the Continental Divide thru this section of the Park. The highly recommended Highline Trail skirts the other side of the Wall.
Gem Glacier is in view, the smallest glacier in the Park. The runoff coming from it, and from Grinnell glacier tucked behind Broken Wing mountain on the left could be heard from far away. Love that sound. Sadly, this area may be called Many Glaciers, but by the end of the decade it would be more accurate to call it "Not Any Glaciers." Gem glacier is reported to only have a couple years left before it is too small to be classified as a glacier. All the rest will be gone, according the the Park Service and scientists, by the end of the decade. Best see it now!
Thanks for taking a look and for any comments or sestions. Always appreciated.
Garden Wall in Dense Fog
The Fog had lifted enough that we could see to walk and at this point, enough to take a photo or two. Know what photos of dense fog look like? If you want to see a couple, msg me. :) Walking the garden wall in dense fog was almost like riding a chairlift in dense fog when you can't see the ground. Though here we could see the ground, only two feet of it in the middle of a sheer wall, but two feet none the less
