BEST 50CC BIKE - 50CC BIKE
Best 50cc bike - Hot tubes bikes - 12 inch girls bike
Best 50cc Bike
- The 50 cc class was the ultra-lightweight class in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, and formed part of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) World Championships from 1962 until 1983; when the class was replaced by 80 cc.

1960 Truimph Yellow Peril
Built in 1960 by Bill Bragg, “Yellow Peril” was run as both a sidecar and a solo in sprint
events around the country.
Brill Bragg is credited with being the first to make purpose-built sprint frames, to produce
light weight specials, with competitors using stripped down road or circuit race machinery
The 650cc Triumph engine runs on Methanol fuel and ran best times of 13.39 seconds solo,
and 13.90 seconds with a sidecar, for the quarter mile. A regular winner, Bragg set World
records for the 50cc sidecar class in 1965, running 147 mph in the process.
The bike was found, along with its stable mates “Blue Peril” and “Scarlet Peril” in a
collapsed garden shed in Kingston-on-Thames in 2000, where they had been since 1966
when Bill Bragg retired from the sport.
Yellow Peril was restored at Maitland Racing between March and June 2005, featured in
Classic Bike Magazine, and run for the first time on July 10th 2005 at the North Weald
Classic Festival, with Norman Hyde on board.
This was the first time that the bike had run in competition for 39 years.

2011 Strider Cup: Georgia Peach Nationals - Working on the Bike
The Strider Cup and Strider World Cup Events are play experiences designed to let toddlers and young kids age 18 months to 5 years old explore the world on TWO wheels. Whether it’s test riding a Strider No-Pedal PREbike for the first time or racing Striders on a dirt track with other toddlers, Strider World Cup events have something for every family interested in giving their child a head start. Balance, coordination, and confidence all develop naturally when children experience group play and friendly competition on Striders.
The National Bicycle League and Strider Sports International have partnered to bring Strider Cup racing and the Strider World Cup to toddlers in the U.S. and around the world. Strider Cup qualifiers will be held at all NBL Nationals and feature no-pedal PREbike racing with classes available for 2, 3, 4, and 5-year-olds by birth year (ex. 2009 birth year will be 2-year-old, 2008 will be 3-year-old, etc.).
The season-long series will conclude with the Strider Cup USA Championship at the NBL Grand National in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, any participant in an NBL Strider World Cup event will be eligible to compete in the Strider World Championships in Japan in October 2011. To participate in the NBL Strider Cup Series, riders will need to purchase a $25 NBL Strider Membership. This cost includes the entry fee for the first race and can be upgraded to a full NBL membership at any time. The membership also includes a 1-year subscription to *BMX Nation* and an NBL Membership Card – the same card all NBL BMX racers carry.

LED BIKE LIGHTS : LED BIKE

Led Bike Lights
- The lungs of sheep or pigs used as food, esp. for pets
- (light) lightly: with few burdens; "experienced travellers travel light"
- (light) make lighter or brighter; "This lamp lightens the room a bit"
- (light) (physics) electromagnetic radiation that can produce a visual sensation; "the light was filtered through a soft glass window"
- bicycle: a wheeled vehicle that has two wheels and is moved by foot pedals
- A bicycle or motorcycle
- bicycle: ride a bicycle
- motorcycle: a motor vehicle with two wheels and a strong frame
- Light-emitting diode, a semiconductor diode that glows when a voltage is applied
- light-emitting diode: diode such that light emitted at a p-n junction is proportional to the bias current; color depends on the material used
- (ling) heather: common Old World heath represented by many varieties; low evergreen grown widely in the northern hemisphere
- (ling) water chestnut whose spiny fruit has two rather than 4 prongs
LED bike light generator
This shot of the stepper motor-as-generator shows the clearance under the frame.
Cheap unipolar stepper motors make surprisingly good generators for powering LEDs. Just connect one terminal of the LEDs (polarity doesn't matter- the current from the motor is AC) to the red wire (sometimes there are two red wires, just connect them together), and the other LED terminal to one of the other wires. It's that easy!
Each of the four coils of the stepper motor generates 3.2 VAC at about 800 RPM, with a load of ~175 mA (seven LEDs in parallel, each pulling 25 mA). The motor/generator should run at least 28 LEDs using all four coils.
Each coil produces 12 pulses per revolution, with a 50% duty-cycle,. In other words, one LED hooked to one coil will produce 12 flashes per rotation and at 1 revolution per second, each pulse is .04 seconds long ( 1 / 12= .083, .083 / 2= .04). Because the LED is on only half the time, the peak voltage to the LED can be higher than it's rated continuous value.
DIY LED bike-light
This is the bar of LEDs that I drive with the generator made from a stepper motor (see my other pics of this project for more info).
The LEDs are inserted into a hard-drive ribbon connector (removed from the cable- the hole spacing and size is perfect for standard LEDs). I used hot melt to cover the wiring for moisture resistance. I'm still looking for just the right housing for it.

BICYCLE SADDLE SEAT : SADDLE SEAT
BICYCLE SADDLE SEAT : MOUNTAIN BIKING PARTS : GIANT BICYCLE FRAMES.
Bicycle Saddle Seat
- A bicycle saddle, often called a seat, is one of three contact points on an upright bicycle, the others being the pedals and the handlebars. The bicycle saddle has been known as such since the bicycle evolved from the draisine, a forerunner of the bicycle.
- The roughly horizontal part of a chair, on which one's weight rests directly
- A sitting place for a passenger in a vehicle or for a member of an audience
- A thing made or used for sitting on, such as a chair or stool
- be able to seat; "The theater seats 2,000"
- a space reserved for sitting (as in a theater or on a train or airplane); "he booked their seats in advance"; "he sat in someone else's place"
- show to a seat; assign a seat for; "The host seated me next to Mrs. Smith"
Giamč Intgrated Saddle/Seat Post Combination
1950s
Italy
This extremely rare integrated saddle post combo is likely the ancestor of the better known Unica-Nitor design introduced in 1959. This saddle is of leather construction while the Unica-Nitor saddle was made of plastic.
Update - Thanks to Marco Gios of Giostorino.it fame, we learn that Antonio and Agostino Giame were two brothers who worked as framebuilders at Gios. Antonio was a very smart and brilliant inventor. This saddle is an example of that. Thanks to Angel Garcia of Italian Cycling Journal blog for forwarding me this great background information on this cool invention. The only other known example of a Giame Intgrated Saddle/Seat Post Combination is on Coppi's 1958 racing bicycle on display in the
Museo di Campionissimi, Novi Ligure.
Saddle frame and headset assembly - first experiment
This saddle frame looks like an ideal rocking chair base. Alas, the leverage of a wide seat compared to a very small saddle footprint makes the seat roll around like a boat on high sea in a storm.
The white substance is Polymorph, mouldable plastic, which allows the headset to sit snuggly in the base.

Conspiracy against Nick riding his bike...
Really isn't conspiracy, more like a series of coincidences that posed obstacles to Nick riding his bike.
1st Day: We couldn't ride because our tires were flat so we buy a pump.
2nd Day: We didn't have the special adapter, so we bought one from the "Bicycles Shop" on 14th Street.
3rd Day: We lost that special adapter. So we got a new one.
4th Day: Upon pumping air into our tires, we found that the cord of the pump was ripped at the base.
5th Day: We went to Frank's Bike Shop in LES to exchange the pump, but they happened to be closed on Wednesdays.

This magazine was supposed to be out mid last year but the client (Suria KLCC) postponed it till now. Most of the pictures in there were taken by me and the layout was done by M&C Saatchi. I've finally gotten a copy from Diyana (tq so much!) and overall it's a quality mag, only let down by the slightly cheap feeling paper.
It's a thick 45-page magazine slightly bigger than A4 size with full colour inside, aimed at giving the necessary info to would be tourist/patrons of Suria KLCC.
I was told that this magazine is to be distributed to tourism centres worldwide. Beyond that, I dunno the details.

16th January - a long ride home
We took advantage of the sunny morning and set out on a rather ambitious family cycle. Megan on her bike (which has never made it further than the park round the corner) and Eli on his scooter (he's not terribly keen on actually scooting, but likes being pulled/pushed along whilst standing on the board). We headed for King George's Park, which is long and thin, bordered by the Wandle on one side. The children's playground is right at the other end and although we very nearly made it, we decided that if we pushed on, we may never make it home again, so turned around just before. Still a very impressive distance travelled, children in fairly good humour throughout, and Eli was even beginning to get the hang of scooting on his own at times.
The first bicycle car racks in Ohio
Three early home-made versions of car racks for bicycles. My father's racks, which cradled the bikes by the top tube is on the right in the left picture. With all the racks on top. he could carry 6 bikes with no disassembly. The one I'm standing in front of looks as if somebody stole it from a school yard and stuck it on a car!
This is a clipping from Take Off!, a company newsletter from North American Aviation where my father worked as a patent draftsman. He converted several of his middle aged co-workers to rabid cycling.

Pinarello Track Bike
- A track bicycle or track bike is a bicycle optimized for racing at a velodrome or outdoor track. Unlike road bicycles, the track bike is a fixed-gear bicycle and so has a single gear and neither freewheel nor brakes. Tires are narrow and inflated to high pressure to reduce rolling resistance.

- A very simple bike used for track racing. It has a single-speed gear without freewheeling and there are no brakes.
- Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. (1952–present) is an Italian high-end bicycle manufacturer based in Treviso, Italy. The company supplies mostly hand-made bicycles for road racing, track racing and cyclo-cross.

This was the bike i always wanted in highschool but could never have afforded to own.
It's okay... it's not my size.

THREE SPEED BIKES : SPEED BIKES
Three speed bikes : 2011 trek road bike
Three Speed Bikes
- (Speed bike) A racing bicycle, commonly known as a road bike, is a bicycle designed for road cycling according to the rules of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI rules were altered in 1934 to exclude recumbent bicycles.
PanWorld/Three Speed Project 2
This is currently a ten speed bike with all steel components. Everything but the main frame, fork, headset, front hub, brakes, crankarms, and stem will be removed and replaced. I have a used set of fenders I'll be adding, too, after repainting them and everything else in gloss-black. I am trying to locate a ($)cheap, new or used, Sturmey-Archer hubset, cable and shifter. All other items will be replaced with aluminum components. Not traditional, I know, but I'm mearly trying to work with something that'll work for me in a frame size I can use. Most three speeds I've seen in the past are too small for me to consider. This is a twenty-four inch frame. I'm six-four.
ROSS Three-Speed 1
This is my newly acquired ROSS three-speed I bought at a second had store for a dollar. They were throwing it out. I saw it on top of the trash trailor and looked it over. I wanted it for the Shimano three-speed set up and thought it was a Sears or Montgomery Ward model due to the color. It wasn't tell a day later that I discovered it to be a ROSS, made in America bike. But even though, like most three speeds, it has lower end items on it, many of which I will replace, it is all there and in fairly good condition.

The end of an era: Burgers model 1939
Burgers was known for its qualitative eminent bicycles. It was a advanced and innovating enterprise which used the words 'quality' and 'pioneer' not in vain.
In the 1930s Burgers had to share its prominent position in the ranks of Dutch bicycle manufacturers more then in its heydays around 1900. But until the beginning of WW2 Burgers was a top class manufacturer; a position which it could not regain afterwards.
In 1961, after 92 years, the factory was closed.
The trademark 'Burgers' still exists as a Dutch bicycle brand.

Don't Walk Away From Your Problems... Running Is Faster
Please do not award with any picture awards.
These are my running shoes, taken after finishing my first sporting event in three years. A 5km run that took place in Warrenpoint on Tuesday night.
In Feb 2006, a week after my 29'th birthday I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer, I had been feeling a bit of colour/out of sorts for a while but had put it down to an injury I got to my back 12 months previous, I just thought it was slow to heal.
I had always kept myself pretty fit and worked as a Group Fitness Trainer teaching RPM (Indoor Cycling), BodyPump, and Circuit Training, I loved my job and loved the people I met and worked with. After about three months off work and feeling like I hadn't recovered I decided to quit my job, it was a decision I still regret and
the months that followed were a bit strange, I found it difficult to get work and still, I felt low in energy, I would cycle five miles and feel like crap, go for a run and feel like someone had hit me over the head with a hammer. I couldn't understand it.
My doctor thought I was depressed and prescribed anti-depressants... I didn't take them...
Eventually my Doctor sent me to a Consultant in the local Hospital, they saw really quickly that something wasn't right and sent me to the City Hospital in Belfast, at this stage I didn't really think I had much to worry about so when they told me I had Cancer it came as a shock. The Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and entire medical team were absolutely amazing, they spent a lot of time talking to me, making sure I was OK, that I understood everything that was happening and reassuring me everything was going to be alright.
I had three Operations over the next year and some of it was tough going, I think sitting around waiting for results was the hardest part...
During this time though a few things happened that had a very positive effect on me, the support of my family and friends has been overwhelming, I didn't think I had so many friends! I'm not sure they know how much I appreciated them all being there.
Having a constant friend in my boyfriend, Cathal, I think this whole experience has been extremely tough on our relationship, things are not as fun and carefree as they used to be, but he has always been there, it was his suggestion I give Photography a go and his encouragement that has helped me find my confidence and gave me courage to stand up and face situations when all I really wanted to do was bury my head in the pillow and cry. I give him such a hard time, I don't know how he puts up with me...
Getting A Part Time job in the Mountain Centre, I think this was the beginning of a turning point when things started to finally go my way, I love this job, love the people I meet and the people I work with.
Getting into Photography and going back to college to study it, I didn't feel strong enough to go cycling or running or swimming and Photography gave me something to focus (excuse the pun) on. I love the course I'm doing and the people I've met, I love the fact I can go a little nuts and nobody actually thinks I am nuts (well maybe they do, but they don't tell me so!)
Having A Puppy in the house, laughing everyday at the funny little things she does and having a reason for doing some exercise, nothing like a springing Springer Spaniel to get you out the door!
And finally, feeling strong enough to go for a run and get back on the bike and having a constant training buddy who is always always up for it, never complains of being tired and doesn't mind waiting for me at the top of the hills. Of course I'm talking about Jess the Springer.
I'm not a runner, never have been, most likely never will be, but I go out there and do it anyway, maybe it'll help me cycle up the hills a little faster and maybe it'll help me fit into my Bridesmaid's dress a little easier and maybe I just love the feeling I get afterwards but I do it anyway and hope I will do for a long time.
Corks in cycling vernacular date back at least to the 1920's, probably originating at the steeply banked wood track indoor 6-day bike races. During the halcyon years of cycling in the tens, twenties, and thirties, trackside at the 6-day race was one of the places where the social set went to be seen. Sitting next to the action at their infield tables, it was chic for the "swells" to sip champagne and dine while giving the track stewards money for sprint laps to liven up the racing activity. The speedy, smooth muscular shaved legs, whirling wheels, sparkling sprockets and the sensuous aroma of the various rub down lotions had more than a few femme fatales asking about and turning an eye or ankle to the studly, er sturdy bike racers.
Soon the jargon evolved. When a cork was popped, power was released. Bubbles escaped, the elixir went flat, no more "oomph" or energy. So, dropping your cork or having no more cork means you're out of it, flat, dead, pooped, no more stuff. Ergo, the racers would hang a cork on their bikes so they'd never be "out" of cork. There would always be one more effort left for a "jam" or sprint. Conversely, if a rider said he "uncorked" a sprint, well, he "jumped", "wound it up", and took off. Or, if he pulled their corks, he went so hard that the opposition got "dropped", "shook off" and had no more cork left.
They were decimated. HAH! Great Fun!
Commercially, bar plugs were not yet in standard production. In spills, riders could easily get gouged by the edges of the handlebar and stem tubes. Ouch! Instead of just taping over the openings, our friendly cork came to the rescue! Corks were filed and/or sanded, inserted into the openings, and often painted to match the rider's bike or team colors. The corks were also used to plug the bottom of the fork crown. Dirt and moisture were kept out. Light, inexpensive, and effective."
A subtle reminder that no matter how tired you think you are, you've always got a little cork left!
Can't be a wine cork though...Gotta be effervescent like Champagne or something."
