Wireless Head Microphone

Sandstorm
The HS-MPAR-006, or Sandstorm, is a autonomous networked mech. Deployed in large numbers, they overwhelm enemy emplacements with their extreme speed and excellent tactical programming. This is augmented by wireless proximity communications, and comm satellites are usually deployed from orbiting craft. This variant was deployed to the desert world Saironia to remove a rogue government. It's speed and camoflauge quickly earned it the local name "Sandstorm". They are effective on open ground, but need support from other units in cities, where corners severely restrict their speed advantage. They are ineffective in forests or mountains. Many different things can be loaded on, such as weapons or supplies. Their "head" is really an advanced sensory receiver, containing four cameras (Two in each "eye"), a loudspeaker, enhanced microphone, communications antenna, and tactical computer.

8"x6"x6" sculpture
I made Star 8 over a few days at work while writing some computer program. The body was from a phone charger. His head is a little camera tripod. The eyes are from a broken wireless keyboard violently destroyed by a co-worker. He has several parts out of an old camcorder (which boasted it was "Hi-Fi monaural"). The base is from an Atari Pac-Man cartridge with some misc engineering parts thrown in for good measure.
