White House neighbor
I'm in Washington DC this week for a conference and enjoying seeing the capital city decorated for the holidays.
This is the building next to the White House -- it's now officially called the "Eisenhower Executive Office Building" and was formerly called "Old Executive Office Building" and before that was the Department of War. It's a seriously cool looking building in the French Second-Empire Style. It was completed in 1888 and now houses the Vice-president's office, among many, many other government offices.
I'm surprised at how well this came out given that it was snowing sideways in high winds (note the flag on top) and I hand-held the camera.
OEOB at night and decorated for Christmas
The Eisenhower Executive Office Building, also known as the Old Executive Office Building (OEOB) at night from the Ellipse. Christmas lights are visible in some of the windows.
