White House neighbor I'm in Washington DC this week for a conference and enjoying seeing the capital city decorated for the holidays. This is the building next to the White House -- it's now officially called the "Eisenhower Executive Office Building" and was formerly called "Old Executive Office Building" and before that was the Department of War. It's a seriously cool looking building in the French Second-Empire Style. It was completed in 1888 and now houses the Vice-president's office, among many, many other government offices. I'm surprised at how well this came out given that it was snowing sideways in high winds (note the flag on top) and I hand-held the camera. Christmas lights are visible in some of the windows.
