BAND T SHIRTS AND HOODIES

This was my entry for the "My Little Love Story" contest, run by Anne/fantheponyfires of Pretend They're Talking. I didn't win but I had lots of fun participating!

Citrus Sweetheart is a tropical girl through and through: she enjoys hula dancing, basking in the sun, grazing in the Great Banana Pastures of the Caribbean, and snowboarding. Wait…snowboarding? That's right. Pineapple Paradise was astounded one Monday evening when he turned on his TV and saw a beautiful, fiery-maned filly with a frangipani tucked behind her bridle flying down the slopes at the World Snowboarding Championship. He was even more surprised to discover that she was from his hometown. Instantly smitten, he vowed to look her up as soon as the Championship was over. He agonized for weeks over how he would ask such a pretty pony out on a date. However, he was surprised again one morning when he went through the checkout line at the local Trader Oats and saw that same filly, smiling and holding her hoof out to take his box of Alfalfa-Os. She didn't even laugh at his worn-out, faded "Real Stallions Are Pink" t-shirt. Stammering out an invitation to the Crater Rim Cafe, Pineapple - who was fully expecting a "neigh" - was surprised when the pony replied that she'd be delighted. The rest is history.

Pineapple always tells Citrus that what attracted him to her was her sense of adventure. She replies that she's always appreciated his willingness to try new things, even if they may be a bit outside his comfort zone. Here, the happy couple is snowshoeing in Alaska, a place Pineapple was too nervous to visit until he met Citrus. He credits her with giving him the confidence to realize that winter weather isn't just for Clydesdales. It was on this trip that he proposed to her. She accepted, of course, and the two ponies are planning a July wedding with a honeymoon in Costa Rica - a destination chosen by Pineapple this time.
