Shades Of Dark Red Hair : Pentax Shutter Release
Shades Of Dark Red Hair
- something that reminds you of someone or something; "aren't there shades of 1948 here?"
- Shades Of is the first album by funeral doom band Shape of Despair. Unlike their other albums, it has a mainly solid guitar sound all the way through that is constantly played. Their more recent releases, for example Illusion's Play have more ambience.
- a red color that reflects little light
- Dark Red is a fantasy-based plot-driven webcomic. It is produced using photographs of actors and actresses which are then processed using a variety of photoshop techniques.
- a covering for the body (or parts of it) consisting of a dense growth of threadlike structures (as on the human head); helps to prevent heat loss; "he combed his hair"; "each hair consists of layers of dead keratinized cells"
- Any of the fine threadlike strands growing from the skin of humans, mammals, and some other animals
- filamentous hairlike growth on a plant; "peach fuzz"
- A very small quantity or extent
- hair's-breadth: a very small distance or space; "they escaped by a hair's-breadth"; "they lost the election by a whisker"
- A similar strand growing from the epidermis of a plant, or forming part of a living cell
Heart on a String -- Finished
This is my contribution to our local EGA (Embroiderers Guild Assn) group’s basket that will be auctioned off at our regional conference this summer. (Auctioning off the basket o’ goodies is a fundraiser for our fledging group!) The design is by Flickr user “june at noon”. The girl’s sweater is french knots, outlined in a darker shade with split stitch through which I backstitched with an even darker shade. The heart on her torso is backstitched in white, then outlined in the same shade I used on the outline of her sweater. Her skirt is backstitch, outlined with split stitch. The floating heart is an appliqué that I outlined with stem stitch, and the string to which the heart is attached is white embroidery floss that I couched. The grass is seed-stitched with various greens. I scored the perfect ribbon with which to wrap the hoop – the ribbon is dark red with a thin strand of black running-stitched through it – I love that that little bit of black is in the ribbon because it harkens back to the black in her hair. The fabric is one of my favorites and I knew I wanted to use it in this project, so chose the colors of her clothes to play off the colors in the fabric.
Red Fox - "Who is watching whom?" - Jackson, WY
Though named the red fox, their wild and domestic coloration varies. Their wild color ranges from a deep ruddy red to pale orange, and can be any shade and intensity in between. Their cheeks, lower jaw, throat and chest, underside, and tip of the tail is pale cream to white. The tail has a patch of dark, thick, oily fur, called the supracaudal gland, a couple of inches from the base on the top. The legs are darker than the body, and are often black. The sides of the muzzle from the inner corner of each eye to the nose is a darker color, ranging from pale brown to almost black. The backs of the ears are black. Some individuals are almost solid red or orange, while others have darker brown or grey hairs interspersed throughout to various degrees, giving them a grizzled appearance.
