Pop up shades - Sun canopy.
Pop Up Shades
- crop up: appear suddenly or unexpectedly; "The farm popped into view as we turned the corner"; "He suddenly popped up out of nowhere"
- pop-up book: a book (usually for children) that contains one or more pages such that a three-dimensional structure rises up when a page is opened
- pop fly: a short high fly ball
- The darker part of a picture
- A shadow or area of darkness
- sunglasses: spectacles that are darkened or polarized to protect the eyes from the glare of the sun; "he was wearing a pair of mirrored shades"
- (shade) shadow: cast a shadow over
- (shade) relative darkness caused by light rays being intercepted by an opaque body; "it is much cooler in the shade"; "there's too much shadiness to take good photographs"
- Comparative darkness and coolness caused by shelter from direct sunlight
Manufactured Grandeur
California Adventure. Anaheim, California
Right across from the Disneyland Park is another Disney theme park called California Adventure. It features some of California's well-known landmarks and probably the only theme park that I know that has a winery and wine tasting as an attraction... ;-)
This photo right here is its version of Yosemite Falls. Funny thing about this photo is that since I took this while in the shade I had to use my camera's pop-up flash. Using flash generally produces cold, white light which did not blend well with the warm, sunny background scene. A CTO gel would have been useful here but since I didn't have my flash stuff I had to improvise. The solution... candy wrapper! Any candy wrapper that can produce warm colors: orange, brown, amber, red, yellow. Just put it in front of your pop-up flash and there you have it!
