No game of cricket played by a county side away from their main ground is complete without the crowd checking out the state of the pitch and prognosticating about just how many runs the team will score or how much the ball will swing and seam. All part of the Summer ritual for devoted cricket fans.

You are not allowed on the field of play at the main grounds but when the show visits a club ground or, in this case, Whitgift School the rules are relaxed a bit but you do have to keep off the square. Obviously.

i was just about to install Dapper Drake over my old Breezy Badger (the live cd and install cd are now merged by the way. so when you put the cd in, it goes to the desktop first as a live cd, and then you click on "install" on the desktop if you want to install it) when my classmate showed up with his macbook pro. wahahha.

it's really impressive. i haven't played with macs much. i've only drooled at them from afar. so far i've only played with my friends iMac G5 (the one with the webcam), a couple of friends' iBooks, and the Mac Mini at computer stores here.

this Macbook Pro trumps them all. it's really MAGICAL. MAGICAL I TELL YOU!!!
it magically switches to windows xp. you just press a button, and the screen will SWISH and become windows xp.

there will be this cube like shape and it will magically turn into XP. i have a feeling i won't be getting any animations done if i have this machine though. i'd probably just stare at it all day.

The cigarette lighter from my car. Interestingly, neither of our other cars have one of these. They're both newer. But the Miata is a '94. Looks like it's been used at least twice. I'm a non smoker but there was one other owner so who knows. And these things get really HOT! LOL I almost burned my fingers trying to get these shots. Worth it though, I think it turned out nice.

Here is another one of my DIY sea fan art in shadow box! It's a very, very small master bathroom. We used Italian marble tiles on the floors and walls of the whole room and radiant heat flooring! So nice and warm on winter mornings! cabinets are from Lowes and counter tops are Corian in safari!

"Torch Extinguisher At The Royal Crescent" Bath, England

The Royal Crescent is a residential road of 30 houses, laid out in a crescent, in the city of Bath, England. Designed by the architect John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774, it is among the greatest examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the United Kingdom and is a grade I listed building. The houses have been home to various notable people for over 200 years. Changes have been made to the interiors, however the facade remains much as it was when it was built.

The Royal Crescent now include a hotel and museum with some of the houses being converted into flats and offices. The buildings have been used as a location for several films and television programs.

It was originally called just The Crescent and the adjective Royal was added at the end of the 18th century after Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany had lived at numbers 1 and 16. Wood designed the great curved facade of what appears to be about 30 three storey houses with Ionic columns on a rusticated ground floor. The columns are 30 inches (76 cm) in diameter reaching 47 feet (14.3 m) and there are 114 in total, each with an entablature 5 feet (1.5 m) deep. The central house has two sets of coupled columns.

Each purchaser bought a certain length of the facade, and then employed their own architect to build a house to their own specifications behind it; hence what appears to be two houses is sometimes one. This system of town planning is betrayed at the rear of the crescent: while the front is completely uniform and symmetrical, the rear is a mixture of differing roof heights, juxtapositions and fenestration. This "Queen Anne fronts and Mary-Anne backs" architecture occurs repeatedly in Bath.

Together with his father John Wood, the Elder, John Wood the Younger was interested in occult and masonic symbolism; perhaps their creation of largest scale was their joint design of the Royal Crescent and the nearby Circus (originally called "the King's Circus"), which from the air can be observed to be a giant circle and crescent, symbolising the soleil-lune, the sun and moon. The Circus, along with Gay Street and Queen Square, forms a key shape which is also a masonic symbol.

In front of the Royal Crescent is a Ha-ha, a trench on which the inner side of which is vertical and faced with stone, with the outer face sloped and turfed, making the trench, in effect, a sunken fence or retaining wall. The ha-ha is designed not to interrupt the view from Royal Victoria Park, and to be invisible until seen from close by. Last night I was woken up by a loud bang in the middle of the night. On the floor of my bedroom something was lying and burning. I jumped up to put out the fire. It was the battery from my new fancy torch. Beside it was lying the larger half of the body. In the bag's side pocket I found the rest of the torch, the rest of the items which were in the pocket, covered in soot and a couple holes. I'm glad I was home!

Note that besides the patterned borders there are narrow lines of tile that would be a good place to adjust the pattern size to the area of the damaged Saltillos.

The challenge will be to find Talavera-style tiles that have a linear design for the borders and ones that have an all-over design for the larger center field.

we still need to finish up a bit of paint and put up the trim, but we are getting close! The floor looks great and very rich. I am glad i let myself be talked into refinishing it, since i like this, warts and all, much better than i would have liked a fake wood floor.

Intro to Epoxy Class. The dog tag was made by Amy at Charming Sam, the Pendant in the front is made from Ten Seconds Studio Art metal embossed by Cheryl Darrow and the domino is stamped by me. All three items have Envirotex Epoxy Resin over them.

I have used epoxy over the solder joints on the board to ensure that they stay in place no matter how rough I am with the board in the future.

Just want the soldered joints to last as I am not very good at soldering!

No, this isn't a football team waiting for a ferry. This are the local porters at the ferry pier. As soon as a bus or a ferry arrives at the pier they run into the bus or the ferry and ask everyone if they can carry the people's luggage. So the passengers don't have a chance to leave the bus/ferry until the porters have disappeared... ;-) Anyway, these porters seem to be organized... "Hagnaya United Porter Associatioin". And every porter has its own number on the back (or in one case in front) of his standardized shirt... ;-)

Quilt for Baby Evans

This quilt is really meant as a play mat for the floor. One side has 61 hexigons with a different image in each - trucks, bikes, balls, ice cream, feathers, etc. It is called an eye spy quilt. Fun to play "Can you find ???" So notice the flannel fabric with question marks on the back. I made this in a class where we all shared fabric as we used so little of each print. Adam and Dao have it at their house waiting for the new one to arrive.
