Day 8

Day 8

Another load of stuff I can live without!

Clockwise from bottom left:

Sunday I spent the entire morning going through my wardrobe, sorting out clothes that were too big, didn’t suit me or that I’d never wear. These are just 2 pairs of trousers that are now swimming on me. I have lost 23 lbs since the end of October and all my trousers are now much too big on the top of the legs and hips, and billow on me. So, rather than hang on to them for posterity, ‘just in case’ I ever put the weight back on, they’re off to Oxfam. I don’t intend putting the weight back on ever again but if I do I’ll go to Oxfam and buy some!
In all I found 6 pairs of trousers, 5 skirts, 2 brand new dresses and about 10 tops that I wasn’t going to wear again, plus 2 pairs of shoes and 2 jackets. These will all be off to Oxfam soon.

A purple and white checked washbag, that has been sitting in a cupboard in our bathroom since…. I don’t know when. It was probably there because I intended to use it on a holiday, but bought another one instead and this just got forgotten. There were also some nail polish remover wipes in it: I bite my nails so don’t use nail polish, so heaven only knows where they came from! Off to the jumble sale with both of them.

Sorted out a load of clothes hangers too , the type they give you when you buy a garment from a shop. Horrible, poky black ones. So off to the jumble sale they will go, where they will be used to hang up clothes on the clothes rail, then get stored away for the next one!

I also sorted out a kitchen cupboard, the one where all the plastic containers get shoved in. Containers without lids, lids without matching containers – these are all excess to my needs. I tidied the cupboard up and there’s now a lot more space in there now that all the containers are neatly stacked (with their lids on). These few will go off to the jumble sale.

I finally emptied the shredder, and this is a bag of shredded paper, envelopes etc. that came from it. This has gone in the paper recycling bag that gets picked up tomorrow.

Next to that, in the Asda bag, is a load of ….. plastic bags! I try not to collect these when I go food shopping, but today I went on the spur of the moment and didn’t have my shopping bags with me, so had to use their plastic bags. I also have a few more that we got from clothes shops and other various shops. These will all go to the jumble sale at the beginning of next month. It’s surprising how many people will go to a sale like that and not take anything to put their purchases in, so they will get used.

A blue CD box full of ‘bits’…. nothing very exciting – a couple of baby bottle teats, a couple of shoe shine freebies from our timeshare toiletries bag, a pack of fabric dye fixer…. bits that you tend to accumulate but don’t know what to do with! Off to the jumble sale – they will be sold off at 10p a go.

Half a dozen kids’ books. These were my daughter’s when she was about 11 – she’s now 23! They’ve been up in the attic, she doesn’t want them and we don’t really know any children that would read them, so I’ll take them to Oxfam.

A few more CDs that were freebies with magazines and newspapers that we won’t use. I’ll take these to the bank when I go again, they are collecting them on behalf of one of our childrens’ TV programmes for an appeal.

And finally – weigh in day today at my slimming club. Lost another half pound of ugly fat! Good riddance!

Only another 2 days to go, and I still haven’t touched my craft room!!! Reckon I could find 100 things in there alone! I also have a food cupboard to do. I can’t get the doors shut today so I think it might be next on the list!

He's So Delicate For A Little Boy....

He's So Delicate For A Little Boy....

.........oh he is definitely a Mama's boy. He loves his Mama...me....so very much.

Here he is standing on the chair and reaching his head around to investigate and see how the bush tastes. He doesn't eat this bush at all. He is so picky and still prefers dog food, which I try to keep from him. The vet says a tiny bit won't hurt him.

Casper and I sit out in the front yard and he jumps and plays. He thinks he owns the four adirondak plastic chairs that sit in my front yard. He has a favorite one and I sit next to him.

He used to stand on his chair to take his baby bottle but now it is gone before we even get to the chairs. I swear he would keep gulping those down one after another.

This was taken on March 18 and never posted. He's bigger and fatter now and his horns are really growing in...but he's still quite a big baby.
