BABY DEER IN HOUSE

Just as I was about to put away the camera for the day, my son came running into the house yelling "baby deer!" So he led me to where this poor thing lay, which was right by the side of the road, and I took a few pictures. There were a few other deer mulling about, but its precarious position leads me to believe maybe it's not doing so well. We're going to check on it in a bit, and call Animal Control if need be. Hope for the best.

This fawn was less than a week old when these pictures were taken. The mother left the fawn under our magnolia bush which is located in a south/southwest corner of the house at the end of our deck. She came back for it that night and left it again the next morning. She came back about 3:30 PM and "picked" up her child and left. Haven't sighted them since.
