BABY CAR CAMERA

1.Well last weekend I started thinking about this weeks assignment, I chose the subject since we were shopping for a new front end loader to move snow at our business but also move trucks around, since this year it is going to flood really bad we could use it to build a dyke around our new shops by the river in New Ulm. We drove around last Saturday all day so I decided to take pictures of my interest in these loaders.
2. I chose to use dynamic balance in my composition of this photo since the loader was the main subject I used that as the focal point to display the photo. The surrounding objects just supported and helped tell the story. My people standing in the photo looking at the loader were shot at the angle of the rule of thirds. The depth of field was pretty great with the nice trees in the background of the photo. I get in to equipment and toys as my dad calls them. The figure and ground were key in shooting this photo since the figure which would be the subject or loader covered up most of the ground but ye in gavea good contrast and since it was a over cast day the photo turned out great with the lighting and no flash.
3. Well I chose auto focus on my droid phone with my hd 8 megapixel camera. This gave it the best choice of perception on the photo. My Iso for this photo turned out at 104 the f-stop was at 2.8 for a setting and the focal length was 5mm I basically just messed around with a few of the pre -set settings on the camera and the result I got was favorable or I was very satisfied by how everything appeared in the end result. The fact that it was snowing added a touch to the photo if looking at great detail in this picture. But the aperture contributed to the detail. The shutter speed kept the lens open longer to give a larger depth of field and the freeze point was basically the time of action and me taking the photo at the right time. Photography is all about being at the correct spot or right place at the right time and I feel I fullfilled what I wanted in this photo plus this is very rewarding with the end result. The objects surrounding the loader compliment its composition to explain it so this was my favorite picture this week.
4. The focus was on the huge loader that was clearly the main subject it was a very hazzy day so it was tough to compose this my camera settings were the technical problem like every week!
5. I captured the moment this was a fun weekend trip shopping for a front end loader and we ended up buying it so it was a great success basically a abstract or still life photo

background story:

i was hiking with some friends, and i slipped and fell into the lackawanna river. we were walking along the rivers edge, and i just slipped. the water was deep, it went over my head, i tried as best as i could to keep my camera OVER my head, but that was unsuccessful. i lost a lens cap in the process, too. i took out the battery, the CF card, opened the flash door, took off the lens and i'm letting it air out by the dehumidifier.

i personally am OK. i have a scrape or two on my arm, and my bum is sore and has a large bruise on it. i'm ok physically, but the phone that was in my pocket, and the camera that was around my neck.... they were not so lucky. i mean, granted i haven't tried turning on the camera yet, i want to let it air out for a few days before trying anything. but yeah. i'm assuming that it's done for...

the camera and its parts are still airing out down by the dehumidifier. my poor xti:(

i took out the phone battery and let the two dry separately by the dehumidifier as well. it looks like there's a tiny bit of damage to the camera on the phone, but overall it seems to be 90% fine. i'm thrilled!
