10 Weeks
10 WEEKS... this is how long I had to wait to be out on my bike again. I can't complain, this is probably 6-8 weeks LESS than we would normally have to wait in this region, it was just that crazy of a winter for us.
OK I know, this in not mountain biking, but right now I have no choice when I ride from my home. All the off-road trails in the park are closed until May (to help combat spring erosion), so I am forced to ride only paved trails. This pic is of the Gatineau Parkway which is closed to all traffic during winter for the X-country skiers. Today, 90% of the road was dry, bare pavement with some snow & ice covering the rest. I ran into 10 skiers on the road & a couple of joggers. It was kind of funny.... I'm thinking they are the crazy ones, out skiing with such minimal snow coverage & they think I am crazy one, riding my bike on snow & ice up to Champlain Lookout.
It was a great 3? hour ride… (that's 2 hours UPHILL & only 1? hour to come back), 5°C & not a cloud in the sky. My legs are pretty sore today, but at least I got a jump on the season.
Ride on!
Chrome Metropolis
I've been biking to work so much lately, I might as well have a proper bike bag. My new bag is HUGE!
Yeah, I keep bikes in my living room too. Here's my Giant OCR1 road bike and Trek Fuel 90 mountain bike.
