National Children's Home Penarth - Junior Approved School
Very young boys who will go to sea when they are older.
PENARTH Headlands School, Paget Place, Penarth, Glamorgan
1930: 108 Children.
Later an Approved School for 55 junior boys.
The Penarth branch was a gift in memory of Major J A Gibbs, DSO, killed in the First World War.
Originally this was known as The Gibb's Nautical Training School and run by the National Children's Home.
Later it became a junior approved school for boys, run by the NCH with the name Headlands School.
