2010-11-07 - cleaning
vva pickup tomorrow means feverish sorting through things today. (well, and for several days.) we went through christina's clothes, and i went through my clothes, too, although there wasn't much to give away after the great purge of 2006, the great purge of 2007, and the great purge of 2008. i did come up with a few t-shirts that i'm never going to wear again, plus a couple of pairs of pants that somehow survived all three purges despite never fitting me properly.
we filled up more than one black trashbag with books from the living room bookshelves. the three on the far wall don't look very different (although the radiator is totally cleaned off, which is a huge feat), but this is the bookshelf i'm happiest with. an entire black trash bag (plus a grocery store plastic bag) full of stuff -- and there are still books left. these shelves were terribly overstuffed, and now they aren't! that means that i can pull books out of my bedroom and stack them on this shelf, and start shelving my books. fun fun fun!!
yellow plarn tote
This plarn, or plastic yarn, tote bag is perfect for bringing lunch to work or picking up a few things at the grocery store. That's ironic because it's made from about 50 clean, yellow grocery store plastic bags, cut into plarn, and crocheted.
