CHECK VALVE PLASTIC - VALVE PLASTIC

Check Valve Plastic - Miniature Valves.

    check valve
  • A check valve, clack valve, non-return valve or one-way valve is a mechanical device, a valve, which normally allows fluid (liquid or gas) to flow through it in only one direction.

  • Limits the flow of gas to one direction only. Use a check valve between the bubbler and generator to prevent unwanted pressure build up in the generator, and a safety against a low level bubbler. A check valve, such as used on torches, is recommended.

  • A valve which will allow water to pass in one direction but will close and prevent flow (backflow) in the opposite direction.

  • A valve that closes to prevent backward flow of liquid

    plastic
  • capable of being influenced or formed; "the plastic minds of children"; "a pliant nature"

  • A synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be molded into shape while soft and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form

  • Credit cards or other types of plastic card that can be used as money

  • fictile: capable of being molded or modeled (especially of earth or clay or other soft material); "plastic substances such as wax or clay"

  • name for certain synthetic or semisynthetic materials that can be molded or extruded into objects or films or filaments or used for making e.g. coatings and adhesives

Close up of the valve I purchased ($2.50) and the tapered thingies ($0.78 each) I attached to either side using Teflon tape to make them water tight. I am not an expert.

Warning: I did not check to be sure the plastics are food safe for high temps. From what I've read on the internet from people who do a lot of this sort of thing, the temps in the mash tun shouldn't reach a level that one should have to worry about the heat of the wort reacting with the plastics in a negative manor. I'm taking my chances.

Jeff checks a formerly leaky valve.

This is the same toilet from before, which ran a lot. Going to see how it goes, whether the running was from the floor leak or if I'll need to replace hardware or the entire thing. Most small toilets these days are either cheapy-cheap & plastic, or $500+.
