Credit Repair Australia

    credit repair
  • A generally unscrupulous or illegal form of credit counseling that promises the impossible, such as erasing accurate records from your credit report.

  • Credit history or credit report is, in many countries, a record of an individual's or company's past borrowing and repaying, including information about late payments and bankruptcy. The term "credit reputation" can either be used synonymous to credit history or to credit score.

  • Actively working to make sure that an individual’s credit report is accurate and up-to-date.  After filing for bankruptcy, this is especially important so that debtors can rebuild their credit and get a fresh start.

2856. Used in the RAN during WWII as a repair-works ship and store carrier, the 3,204 tons gross former river steamer WHANG PU was built in Hong Kong for the China Navigation Company Ltd in 1920.

On charter to the Admiralty when the Pacific War erupted, WHANG PU was at Singapore being converted to a submarine depot when that city fell to the Japanese.

Fleeing to Fremantle, the big old river steamer was at first used as an accomodation vessel for the crews of Dutch submarines and minesweepers there.

On October 1, 1943, she was commissioned into the RAN and fitted out as a mobile repair ship.

Steamed to New Guinea in 1944 she assisted in the construction of base facilities at Madang and acted as a depot ship for RAN frigates, corvettes and small craft.

Serving also as a stores issuing vessel, in 1945 she was based at Morotai where she stored and repaired some 260 Allied vessels.

In February 1946 WHANG PU sailed to Hong Kong and reverted to Admiralty control before being returned to her owners.

1005. The 32,600 ton Cleveland Class battleship USS Maryland, BB46, was built at Newport News and commissioned on July 21, 1921.

I have just added some notes to the previous photo with ships details for USS Oklahoma and her fate in the attack on Pearl Harbour.

USS Maryland was berthed inboard of USS Oklahoma during the attack and received less damage as the latter was repeatedly hit and capsized beside her.

After repair USS Maryland and one or two of the older US battleships - too slow to keep pace with the carriers - initially played a guard role on supply routes to Australia.

After her anti-aircraft armament was improved, however, 'The Fighting Mary' joined the US Seventh Fleet and played a key role in the battle for the Phillippines - when she was hit by kamikaze - and thence in the islands campaigns north to Japan.

Maryland earned seven battle stars in WW11. Placed in reserve in Puget Sound in 1946 she was eventually sold for scrapping in Oakland California in July 1959.

Photo - Ron Hart, as credited in Ross Gillett and Michael Melliar-Phelps's book 'A Century of Ships in Sydney Harbour' [Rigby, Sydney 1980] p63.

I am inclined to believe it may be part of a Collection, but in fact taken by Sam Hood, the great NSW ships photographer who was very active around the fleet visit.

Apologies if this is wrong.
