MUELLER, PIONEER WICHITA MAN, DIES MONDAY ______ Surviving Sons Are Among City’s Most Prominent Business Men. ______ WAS BORN IN FRANCE. ______ Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Methodist church at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon for Paul J. Mueller, 86, pioneer resident and business man of Wichita, who died at 9:20 o’clock Monday morning at a local hospital after an illness of only two days with erysipelas. The funeral will be in charge of Rev. Olin Clarke Jones who will be assisted by the Rev. A. A. Parker. Interment will be in the Mueller family lot in Maple Grove cemetery. Was a Tailor. Mr. Mueller came to Wichita 31 years ago and until his retirement 15 years ago was engaged in the tailoring business. Surviving Mr. Mueller are five sons, Charles P. Mueller, 1819 East Ninth street, and E. J. Mueller, 1117 Allen avenue, florists; A. G. Mueller, 314 North Lawrence avenue, undertaker, H. S. Mueller, 210 South Estelle avenue, grocer; and F. W. Mueller, Enid Okla.; and three daughters Mrs. A. R. Wentz, 1044 Matthewson avenue, at whose home he lived; Mrs. L. R. Wentz, 1064 North Waco avenue; and Mrs. I. E. Kenega, Royal Oaks, Mich. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Born in Paris Mr. Mueller was born in Paris, France, and came to the United States, with his parents when he was 15 years old. He lived in New York City until coming to Wichita. At the beginning of the Civil war Mr. Mueller enlisted in a New York regiment and served throughout the war. He was a member of Garfield Post, G. A. R., the A. O. U. W. lodge of New York and of St. Paul’s Methodist church. E. W. Phillips, commander of Garfield Post, G. A. R. , Monday evening requested G. A. R. members to attend Mr. Mueller’s funeral in a body.
