St Matthew's Church, Widcombe Built between 1846 and 1847, principally to designs by Bath City Architect George Phillips Manners, St Matthew's Church in Widcombe is situated above the Widcombe Locks of the Kennet and Avon Canal and opposite the Church Room Institute on Cambridge Place. It is one of two churches in the parish of Widcombe, the other being the much older St Thomas a Becket. Processed using Lo-Fi. Two adults and one child for the South Pool please. The ornate turnstile entrance-and-exit to Wolverhampton's Central Baths on 19th June 1985, just a few days before the Victorian built baths closed its doors to the public for the last time. How Wolverhampton Council allowed this grand old building to be demolished is beyond me. View, as it would be seen on exiting the Baths.
