93/365 Welcome to the HorizInn

93/365 Welcome to the HorizInn

"The Horiz Inn? What's a Horiz?"

Those were the first words that rolled out of Sarah's mouth as we pulled into the HorizInn in Greenville, NC at 2am. It was without a doubt, the most ghetto hotel I had ever seen in my life. It looked like one of those motels where the people on crime shows like CSI are constantly at to investigate murders! The rooms in it weren't anything short of what you'd expect from a dingy motel. The lock in my room didn't even work so we propped a chair by the door! Everything in the room was GROSS... cigarette burns everywhere, warped ceiling and bathroom floors, disgusting-looking bedsheets, and we didn't need to take a blacklight to see what was in that room! So after scoping around the room, we didn't know what to do with ourselves for a good hour or so. None of us wanted to sit down, much less lie down on the beds to sleep, even despite needing to get up in 4hrs to do a whole day of dancing. Eventually, we pull off all the covers and slept on top of our own towels and any other clothes we could find. The night was horrible. The room was humid, then hot, then cold, and I swear I was allergic to something in that room. I could not breathe all night and snot was dripping out of my nose like a leaky faucet (you're welcome for that image hee hee). Blaaaah....

There were so many pictures that I took that could've been perfect for today's 365 image, or even FailBlog for that matter, but here's the eerie part: NONE of the pictures that I took within the first hour there turned out right! Everytime I went to preview the pictures on my camera, there'd be a question mark and a caption saying "Unidentified Image." I'm thinking I just need a new memory card, but the fact that no pictures taken at the hotel turned up just gave us more of a creep factor!

And now to maybe answer a dying question of yours: why on earth were we staying at such a crappy hotel?

I give you two words: False advertising.

Not any of us slept that night xP
