Greg has an enormous passion for the world beneath the sea and the people who partake in this adventure.

His imagination was sparked at an early age while his family would gather around his Grandmothers television Sunday evenings to catch the latest version of Commander Cousteau and his Wonderful World. Greg was enthralled with the world under the sea and dreamt of adventures as a frogman in his junior years.

He began his diving career with PADI-NAUI oriented training in 1989 and transitioned through leadership programs involving supervision and education of neophyte enthusiasts. Being heavily involved with the procurement of dive industry protocol he founded a partnership in dive retail and opened a facility which catered to the mainstream enthusiast in 1993.

Finding an urge to seek further adventure Greg began organizing dive charter vacations on the west coast of British Columbia. Diving is distant from a spectators activity so unless one is submerged it leaves a great deal to the imagination. Video is a tool to bring the visualization to the next step so naturally this resource was brought under the waves to capture his clients pursuits while engaged in this environment. This went over very well with both divers and their families so Greg rarely missed an opportunity to film ringside for divers to bring their activities back home in real time. Apres dive presentations quickly became mainstream and the gang was able to improve on technique, recognize and communicate the creatures encountered in varying ecosystems. The camera was increasingly becoming more popular and baptismal challenges would soon envelope him in deep sea wreck diving adventure around the world.

Greg had read accounts of American adventurers on the east coast of the United States, brave souls who would journey to the edge of the horizon in search of challenging personal fulfillment on the high seas. Gary Gentile was one who documented in detail the excursions of the east coast shipwreck diving community and captured the imagination of many hardy souls. The characters and challenges outlined in Garys books was very appealing to Greg and he began the pilgrimage which would soon see him traveling with his video camera to destinations throughout the US, Europe and Asia.

The year was 1994 and information regarding mixed gases and related equipment was limited. The internet was in its infancy so was not developed significantly to engulf a community mainly comprised of laymen. Connections weren't made so readily as today so many understood the goals but were limited as to how to reach them. These people had to invent many of their own plumbing arrangements as they pictured the pursuit to unfold. Deep air diving was very popular and the advantages of helium were known but equipment to transfill and install were somewhat vague.

Greg then ventured to New Jersey to train with Andrea Doria shipwreck divers and was certified as a full trimix diver while visiting the Andrea Doria ... 107 miles offshore of Montauk Pt., Long Island, NY. While participating Greg met up with John Chatterton a charismatic leader and explorer who frequently organized shipwreck exploration in the North Atlantic. Greg began taking his film camera down to the depths filming these hardcore enthusiasts while they wrestled artifacts on the wrecks and captured their characters topside while expressing their passion and emotion for this activity. Greg would then compile the adventure and send them out to his friends as a production which soon became very popular and made its way to the media. By 1999 Greg had been crew on the Seeker for a number of years and had visited the Andrea Doria on twenty two occasions along with a number of deep shipwrecks namely the Sebastian, Republic and the U869 off this coastline.

NBC Discovery News - supplied stock footage for a program about the perils of diving the Andrea Doria and the risk divers take to gain a part of her, both mentally, physically and with artifact recovery.

Extreme Machines - Raiders of the Deep (Pioneer Productions) highlighted man's ability to push the limits with advanced technology such as use of closed circuit rebreathers. The program aired on TLC in June of 2000.

In 1997 Greg was involved with video documentation of the continuing saga of the U869 and his footage was used by Lone Wolf Productions of History Channels "Hitlers Lost U Boat"

The Struma Project (Associated Producers) - participated in the 2000 expedition to locate this shipwreck off the Turkish Coast in the Black Sea. Although the shipwreck was never found significant others were discovered in the pursuit and personal agendas were fulfilled for the founding member of the expedition Greg Buxton.

In the summer of 1998 he joined a British lead expedition to the shipwreck of the Britannic, Sister ship of the Titanic in the Kea Channel, he was to be the sole Canadian on this venture. The team was stationed in Korissia, Gre
