Two Faced Smile and Frown Hibiscus Mask, Wall Decor from Bali, 9" Tall

This is the amazing two-faced hibiscus face design that is one of the most popular hibiscus tree carvings to come from Bali, Indonesia. As seen by the various pictures, the face one way shows a happy smiling expression, and when turned upside down, the expression turns into a sad, pouting face. This carving is about 9 to 9 1/2 inches tall by 4 1/2 to 5 inches wide. Variations in wood grain, color formation, as well as the individual carvers technique are to be expected. Each mask is individually carved from the wood of hibiscus trees that are ready for harvesting. The wood is left in its natural state, rather than stained. Hibiscus wood can come in many shades, or even a combination of shades. Most common colors are white to a light to dark gray color. Each carving will have its own characteristics.
