Spa 6 Hr Masters Sept 2011 - McLaren F1 GTR 2 It was a double edged sword seeing the F1 at the Spa Masters event. Great to see it there but made me feel particularly old as it was a car that I watched at some of the last events I frequented! Chassis number 021, which was the Lehto/Soper car for the first half of the season. 1st Hockenheim, 3rd Silverstone (where there team mates Ravaglia & Knox won by half a second from the CLK!), 1st Helsinki, 3rd at Nurburgring (behind 2 CLKs), 1st Spa, 3rd Zeltweg (behind 2 CLKs) - then they either swapped to another chassis at Suzuka or Donington. Still not bad - 6 top 3 finishes (and 3 of those outright wins). Despite this (and anoter win at Mugello), they lost the title to Schneider's CLK by 12 points (after they failed to finish in the points at the last 2 rounds - and Schneider won both).
