Building Mission Style Furniture

This is the right side of the front porch. It is planted with all shade loving plants. Hostas, Bleeding Hearts, Ferns, Goatsbeard, Astilbe, and Lady's Mantle. Down toward the end, it and around the corner, it gets some afternoon sun, so there are some Oregano and Asiatic Lilies, Stargazer Lilies growing, as well as Jacob's Ladder, some more Hostas, Coral Bells, Columbine, and a Hydrangea Bush. I love to sit on my wicker furniture, and read, sip on some wine, and watch the neighbors go by. When we built the porch, we could not find porch railing that we liked, so I designed the pattern of the porch railing, and my husband and Father-in-Law hand built the entire railing. I wanted a kind or "mission style" feeling, and I really love the way it turned out. ( I know, it needs to be re-painted. When we painted the porch floor, someone wasn't very careful..... Another thing on the "To Do" list.)
Deep Drawers
We live in a 1924 Craftsman style Bungalow. The rooms are not big in this house. We designed a queen sized captain's be with bookcase headboard in the Mission Style in Sketchup and had Dan Roe build the design. It has quadupled the storage in our room in the same footprint as the old bed and is a beautiful piece of good craftmanship to anchor our room and living needs.
