Llwyn-on Reservoir Panorama
A whole bunch of fellow Flickr users and I took a second trip in and around the brecon beacons. Ystradfellte was the first place we went to followed by the national park with all the sheep, photos from those places will likely appear in the photostream a little later. This is the third place we went to known as Llwyn-on Reservoir, it was a relatively quick stop but the gang were able to take a few piccys. I wanted to take a panorama picture, I was able to do this for once because I actually remembered to bring a tripod. When panning the camera around I was at first superstitious because the water horizon thingy went in a big curve, I thought it would be too difficult for Photoshop to automatically readjust into a nice straight line. I've been meaning to acquire the free Hugin application that let's you manually skewer them to be straight, however I am a very lazy person. Luckily Photoshop prevailed and after looking around briefly on the internet I was able to straighten the picture by rotating it 90CW and using the 'Shear' filter. It's still a tad curved by I reckon it's quite suited.
The reason for the sexy colours of both the water and the landscape was due to using the 'cloudy' setting on my Canon's white balance menu; it had done me justice earlier in the day when I was in the woods while in lame weather. I kinda bummed it for the rest of the day and it kinda stuck for this photograph, whether it is just or not is another matter but I am rather chuffed with the colours. The only real bummer was that throughout the day my 'focusing skills' had a bit of an off-day, zooming into this photograph too close will prove this. Regardless this picture should be pretty tasty if viewed in large or original if you're not too bothered. Please note that to fit Flickr's limit the photo has also been compressed and resized. Overall today was pretty successful and they'll be many more to come in the following days.

White Rose - My Garden
TLR Digital Velvia PS Actions
Sorry about the softness on the image - the little Nikon Coolpix struggled on close up mode , not surprisingly as the rose was white ! - regard it as a picture taken using a soft focus filter !
I've tried to make it look like slide film and the end of the day , the Coolpix is a fair weather snappy camera and these pictures were taken at a twilight to dusk time with the lovely light you get .
Sometimes you get away with pushing that little camera to the limit , sometimes you don't - end of !
that's probably a better attitude than a abrupt " Soft Image " comment . It takes a lot of courage to be a internet warrior ? - LOL
