White Ibis Just north of Everglades National Park is Big Cypress National Preserve. Big Cypress' marginally higher elevation allows for trees to grow in greater proliferation, and the forests of the Preserve are dominated by tall bald cypress. One of the roadside parks along the highway through Big Cypress has a boardwalk that leads you into one of the swamps among the trees. I managed to catpure this white ibis standing around on a log in the middle of a lilly covered area of the swamp. The lighting was just a perfect, the canopy of the tree keeping the midday sun from being too harsh. Canopy I have recently found it fun to photograph the different trees I come across while out with my camera. Brown Deer Park near my home has been providing me with some excellent choices and I have many more to capture. On a recent evening I took advantage of the gray skies to get a view of the trees that create the canopy in this area. Such beauty in how their branchs combine and cover the sky.
