- Art Deco is an eclectic artistic and design style which had its origins in Paris in the first decades of the 20th century. The style "originated in the twenties" and continued to be employed until after World War II.

Art Deco Shopfront: Fox ~ London Wall
This very attractive Art Deco shopfront was built circa 1935, and is clad in black vitrolite, which was manufactured by Pilkington Bros.The shopfitting was by Pollards. Vitrolite was the height of style, it was structural pigmented glass and was hugely popular in the 1920s and '30s. Shopfronts and home interiors were tiled with it, giving them the streamlined look so popular in art deco and art moderne styles.
Fox and Co started out as a purveyor of gentleman’s umbrellas in 1868. Now you can buy an umbrella or walking stick but it’s more about deluxe all-English bespoke tailoring. Leather briefcases and wallets are T Fox & Co’s speciality, as are handmade ties, smart shirts and shoes.
Sadly Fox's closed down in August 2011.
Art Deco Boston Summer
Art Deco is a style of decorative art characterized by geometric designs, bold colors, sharply defined outlines and circular forms. Although Boston has a rich history of architecture, Art Deco is not commonly found in the city. This rare perspective of the city serves as the main inspiration behind the Art Deco Boston tee. The other aspect of the design focuses on my connection with the city, which is symbolized by the train.
