Alice

Alice is inspired by the Alice In Wonderland story by Lewis Carroll. She is about 24 inches tall.

Alice comes with a lovely white Rabbit named Clock Works. Clock Works has a pocket watch on his tummy with exposed gears and an actual gear on top of that! He has red eyes because he is albino. As you may well know Alice followed little Clock Works down a Rabbit hole, and then was changed... now with her new wonderland dress she is ready to move in with you. She did tell me one thing she wants me to pass on to her new owner "But I don't want to go among mad people," so you have been warned you must be totally normal to purchase her.

Alice has a beautiful blue Alice print lolita style dress with playing card trim, black lace, and a black and white diamond ribbon around the waist with a bow in the front. A huge and lovely black satin bow in her blue and black hair. She wears a beautiful key pendant necklace. Alice also has black and white striped socks and a heart on her chest.

I told Alice she would be going to a new home soon and do you know what she said? Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said: "one can't believe impossible things." I think that just is not true, there must be a new mommy out there for her someplace.

New toy: Nikon F4S with DP-20 and DW-21 finders

As my old F3 is stuck in storage in the UK and I wanted to get back to shooting some film, I went out today and treated myself to an early birthday present; F4S with the DP-20 and DW-21 viewfinders.

This beast came out in 1988 and my body is a 1989, but with the newer DP-20 prism finder [with the improved metering selection switch]. The body is in mint condition, as are both the finders. 1988 was the year I started film-school in the UK and I lusted after this camera plenty but it was very expensive when it first came out and off limits to me.

The DW-21 is a 100%, 6x magnification viewfinder that allows me to do my low-level shots..... boy, how I wish the D3 and D700 had removeable and interchangeable viewfinders.

Gonna be getting a D700 or something FX later this year, undoubtably by Xmas. Just cant afford it yet.

The 85mm AF D works great on the F4 as does any Nikon lens made since 1959; even the old F-mount, Pre-AI lenses.

AF is as fast as the D200 as well. Awesome.

Traded in an old OM-2n body and a couple of basic lenses to take the edge off of purchasing the F4. In the end it cost me an extra 15,000Yen for what you see above. Bargain.

New toy

I've discovered that I've been using a laptop more and more now that I have a baby to look after. Despite the fact I'm surrounded here at home by a 1.7GHz AMD box, a 1GHz P3 box, a 1GHz Nehemiah Mini-ITX box, a 733MHz Via C3 Linux server, an 800MHz VIA C3 friggin Linux alarm clock (still not finished) and a G4 Macintosh I've been struggling by with a 400MHz PII laptop, purely because it's easy to do stuff and keep the boy on my other arm.

Times have changed, not least because I got a pay rise today, so I've upgraded. I now have a very nice Toshiba Satellite Pro M50. It's a Celeron M running at 1.4GHz, has a halfway usable graphics chipset from ATi, dual layer DVD burner (all formats, including DVD-RAM), built-in wifi and Gigabit ethernet and a gorgeous widescreen display.

More memory would be nice (it's only 256Mb, and 64Mb is leeched by the graphics) but otherwise - bloody great. A bargain at about ?415, and it looks far more expensive.

And hey - it's got a UK keyboard layout. At last!

WDW Shere Khan Plush

This Shere Khan is From the "Walt Disney World" Theme park and is pretty elusive.

This is the only one I've ever seen, so Naturally Being a Shere Khan Fangirl I had to have it C:

He's really nice an more cartoony than most, Very different from the others I've seen too lol, he's in his typical Shere Khan pose, which is one of the nicest things about him.

He's also Pretty well made features wise, Hes got embroidered eyes and nose and has a small bit of airbrushing going on around his eyes C: which is a nice touch ^^

I really don't Know where he came from, I am assuming the Disney store or theme parks, its gotta be one or the other.

He's In good Used condition, Basically New without tags, tush tags only!

This is by far the best Dodger I've seen, And he's not too common either, I lucked out getting this one several years ago. Once I knew of his existance I had to have it, so I searched regularly and lucked out eventually.

He is super soft and got embroidered eyes, and is able to stand on his own even though he's not Poseable, He's sterdy enough to stand upright with little to no help!

Rushan Beachfront

Nice sandy beach with everything from an inflatable octopus boucy house to an American old west saloon set-up on the beach, don't forget cabanas, and you can rent four wheelers! Note the strange otherworldly structures and buildings in the distance, they are part of the park too.

so, every family has their christmas traditions, and my family is no different...but our traditions might be a little different from yours...first of all, my 16 year old sister wakes us all up at 6am, then we go downstairs...usually, there's an open present for each of us, to occupy our time for a while, and we can look at our stockings...at 7am we're allowed to "wake" my parents who have been pretending to sleep. this year, they didn't bother pretending, they just came down and we started opening gifts almost right away...we do a couple of rounds of "everyone open one gift" and then we switch to free for all... after we've opened everything and played with our toys for a little bit, we have a family breakfast, and start getting ready for our day... we pack our bags and head to indianapolis to spend the next two days with my dad's side of the family...the whole thing... we drive to indy, leaving around 11:30 and arriving around 2 chicago time...we're the first ones there after the aunt, uncle and cousins who live there and my grandparents who spend the week there. as the day goes on, the rest of the family starts showing up. all told, we're 23 people and two dogs (mine stays home). this picture was snapped in the entry way of the house that used to be my grandparent's and now belongs to my aunt and uncle

For this year's Father Christmas gift I made the little ladies a wee fruit + veg stall.

Like last year's play kitchen, this is another Ikea hack. I started again with the trusty ?7.99 Rast table and added bits of wood donated by friends or that I had left over from other projects to make the frame and trim out the basket area. I used leftover paint from our bathroom refurb - I would have preferred a darker green but was trying to do this on the cheap so I used what I already had wherever possible.

Holding up the awning are shelf supports I found under a desk in the craft room that I'd had for, yes, three years. I knew I'd need those one day - read it and weep, clutter-free minimalists! The wooden boxes underneath are from Ikea and I just screwed a piece of wood into the back of the bottom shelf for the boxes to sit on for that market-friendly tilt.

I made the awning from Ikea fabric but didn't have time to embroider the gals' name into it, too bad. The little veg boxes on top came with a set of Melissa and Doug wooden play food and I topped that set up with extra felt + wooden nature's candy from an online shop. The chalkboard is a piece of cardboard painted with blackboard paint and shoved into a charity-shopped frame.

Not including the play food, this cost under ?20 to make and the girls are gaga for it!

Royal Savings Bank

1961, November 14th. Chigago, Illinois. 5:31 PM.
I was working the day shift at the Royal Savings bank as the bank guard. The bank was more of a office for the multi-millionaire business executive, Ethan Royal. He was slightly eccentric, but he was loved by every single one of his employees, because he genuinely cared for every single one of us. One of Mr. Royal's encentricies was that he did not want just to have a office, he wanted it to be profitable. So he bought a dreary two-story office building, turned the 1st floor into a bank, and the 2nd floor into his office. Anyway, at this moment the Boss, as we called him, was up in his office talking to a prospective manager for one of his toy stores. Then it happened, two men dressed in suits and black fedoras, carrying Tommys, burst though the front doors. I tired to stop em', but one of them clocked me on the head with his Tommy. I cried out and hit the floor. One started up the stairs and the other had the teller come out from behind the bars. Then we heard a shooting, and the guy tumbled down the stairs. The gangster at the bottom freaked out and I jumped up and tackled the guy. The teller came over and wrested the Tommy away from the gangster. Later we learned how the Boss had shot the gangster with his snub-nose revolver. A few things happened after this occurence. Another bank guard was hired and this time we both got to carry pistols, and the prospective manager got the store.

This was a very interesting build, I spent about $50 dollars in parts and worked pretty hard on this one. I know a lot of people say this, but it looks much better in real life. I have always wanted to build a building so this is really my first attempt. The outside isnt anything special, but I went for the detail inside. For instance there is a bathroom under the stairs, a fireplace, a executive desk, a safe, a bookcase and more.

Little Digger, Quartzite AZ

Today we decided to go for a drive to California. Blythe, CA is on the CA/AZ border on I-10, about 130 miles west of where we live. We had not made that trek before, so it seemed like fun.

While Anne was in the bead store I decided to wander around Quartzite. This is a small little town about 15 miles from the CA border. However, during the winter, there are about 1.5 million people who bring their RVs, campers, tents, etc. and stay in the area. Glad I was here today.

During my wandering, I saw this little kid (dad was just to the left) playing on this little toy backhoe..

Sigh. Pre-children these bookcases (and 3 others) were full of our books and DVDs. Now we're overrun with their stuff and it just keeps growing. In addition to what's seen in this picture, we have an IKEA Trofast unit, several large 'Really Useful Boxes', 2 large boxes with larger vehicles, a Happyland storage box full of the Happyland people and vehicles and a toy chest in the bedroom too!

The majority of our books are now packed away in the loft and most DVDs have been charity-shopped; I'll probably have to clear more grown-up possessions away now that No 3 has arrived....

Hand made wooden house and furniture

This is a beautiful wooden house out in Hsinzhu and it's home made furniture. The house was made by the owner who is a wood work teacher. All the furniture is hand crafted in the workshops next to the house. These pictures were taken on their official opening day celebration. The wood all comes from local sources and a lot of it is reclaimed wood.
