Hilton Podgorica Crna Gora is situated just off Trg Nezavisnosti aka Trg Republike , Podgorica's main square and overlooks the lush green Kraljev Park King's Park. Podgorica's oldest hotel, the former Hotel Crna Gora Crna Gora means Montenegro was completely refurbished to reopen as the Hilton Podgorica, which has been popular with business travellers. The interior design makes discrete references to the old hotel, such as the geometric motifs in the lobby's impressive marble floor and the use of 'antiqued' mirrors. However, all the furnishing is new and luxurious, and supplied by Simpo from Serbia. The lobby displays a fine collection of oil paintings by well-known Montenegrin artists, which the new owners bought from the old hotel. Staff are welcoming, helpful and professional, and a great source of local information. On the first floor, the Doclea Spa has an indoor pool 18 metres by 8 metres , a whirlpool tub, steam bath, Finnish sauna, bio sauna and experience showers, and massage rooms, plus a private VIP spa area. The Hilton fitness is a big modern gym with private trainers, while the Beauty Point, on a mezzanine, does facials, manicures and hairdressing. For business travellers, there are five meeting rooms, including the Crystal ballroom plus an Executive Lounge on the sixth floor, with fantastic city views. There are 180 spacious rooms and suites, all newly furnished and well lit. Carpets and fabrics are in earthy shades of cream, brown and mustard yellow. You get a super-comfy king-sized Hilton Serenity bed, a big desk and ergonomic swivel armchair, a chaise-longue, plenty of wardrobe space, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms have a separate bathtub and shower, a black marble washbasin, an ornate faux-Baroque, silver-framed mirror and luscious Peter Thomas Roth toiletries. Restaurant Crna Gora, on the ground floor, offers buffet breakfast followed by ŕ la carte lunch and dinner. Breakfast is a real feast — indulge in sliced fresh pineapple, followed by scrambled egg with delicious locally-sourced sausages and bacon, homemade cakes and a good strong creamy cappuccino. Have a pre-dinner aperitif at the rooftop Sky Bar — an open-air venue with spectacular city views. It serves excellent cocktails and light snacks, making it a popular after-dark meeting spot for locals. The ground-floor Terrace Fontana, frequented by local politicians and celebrities, is a fine spot for coffee and homemade ice cream.
