Grandest Canyon... The Grand Canyon is unmatched throughout the world for the vistas it offers to visitors on the rim. The Grand Canyon is known for its overwhelming size and its intricate and colorful landscape. Geologically it is significant because of the thick sequence of ancient rocks that are beautifully preserved and exposed in the walls of the canyon. The uplift of the Colorado Plateau is uneven, and the north-south trending Kaibab Plateau that Grand Canyon bisects is over a thousand feet higher at the North Rim (about 1,000 ft/300 m) than at the South Rim. The fact that the Colorado River flows in a curve around the higher North Rim part of the Kaibab Plateau and closer to the South Rim part of the plateau is also explained by this asymmetry. - Courtesy wiki. I preferred the North rim to the South. Mostly coz less people around and I prefer that any day, the reason being it takes an additional 200 odd miles from the south rim and many do not wanna do that.I was amazed by the sheer magnificence of this place.It really makes you feel humbled.I have so many shots of this wonderful place. I hope in the days to come, I can share some more of it and provide some more info about this marvel of nature! This was shot at dusk at Cape Royal in the North Rim.This beautiful formation is known as the Angel Arch. I know I have not kept good pace with my uploads.
