(13) Day 254 - Attack of the Kleiderschrank With all their loot, despite Mr Fox's best efforts, the Land of the Bed has become bit of a dump. Mrs PB's not exactly the tidiest of Polar Bears, and she has rather more stuff than most. So the Feng Shui of the realm in jeopardy, Mr Fox was forced to take drastic action - he ordered a wardrobe. Ordinarily this would not be anything out of the ordinary, but for a fox with a genetic predisposition to being squashed by free standing furniture, it was one he couldn't take lightly. More than one of his ancestors had met stick ends due to wardrobe malfunctions, wobbly chairs, and come to think of it agitated bears! Several of these risks combined, hauling the heavy cupboard into the bedroom was fraught with danger. What he had intended to be a slick operation, thanks to Mrs PB quickly descended to a scene reminiscent of the Chuckle Brothers. Mrs PB busy yelling "To Me, To You..." had yelled "To You" a few too many times. The uptake of which was that Mr Fox came very close to being squashed! This must have been his lucky day, but as his life flashed before his eyes, all he could think why didn't he buy it flat pack!! A 1930s what? Bought for ?20 at the antique shop at Wolseley Bridge Staffordshire. Can't figure out what it was for. Top surface was lino, too damaged by damp to keep, but why the peculiar arrangement of the top edges? All drawers lockable (no keys unfortunately). Anybody any ideas. Will look good stripped in due course!
