WWII Japanese hand grenade!
This is a Japanese hand grenade from WWII. It was found on the beach amongst all those rocks. This one is relatively safe in my opinion, meaning that the main explosive charge is missing. That tube sticking out the bottom would have detonated, in turn detonating the main explosive charge sending pieces of red hot, razor sharp pieces of metal through the air. The top would have had a pull pin attached. You would pull the pin, hit the top on a hard surface and then throw it. Sadly, during WWII many Japanese soldiers committed suicide by holding this thing to their chest after arming it by smashing it down on a hard surface.
