Nike's Air Jordan 1 is undeniably one of the most recognizable sneakers in the world. Whether or not you're a dedicated sneakerhead, thanks to the monumental legacy of Michael Jordan – the center point of Netflix's The Last Dance documentary series – you'll have definitely spotted the AJ1 Bred once or twice.
It'd be unfair to solely place the popularity of the Air Jordan 1 on its history; the sneaker has and continues to have some of the strongest colorways and collaborations of the Jordan Brand lineup as a whole.
Just recently, we saw the launch of the A Ma Maniére collab, which showcased the silhouette at its best with strict attention to detail. The drop closely followed the "Patent Bred" and fragment team-up pairs which, similarly rocked the secondary market.
Within the AJ1 family itself, there are plenty of variations, such as the Low, Mid, and Zoom CMFT; each has its fans, but none quite like the OG High. It is, however, the Zoom CMFT that is turning heads with its upcoming "Washed Blue" colorway.
The sneakers' blue and purple marbled suede overlays are the focal point of the design, creating one of the strongest Spring/Summer colorways since the AJ1 "Hyper Royal." Underlays create a balanced palate with creamy white and pale blue leather, while the Swoosh is filled with deep navy.
Despite not being the flagship product of Jordan Brand, this take on the Zoom CMFT is definitely going to be highly-desired thanks to its perfected color blocking.

A Signed 1985 Nike Air Jordan 1 Player Sample Just Landed on eBay for $250,000
A prototype pair of 1985 Nikes made specifically for the Michael Jordan just hit the resale market.
The pre-owned sneakers are a player sample and come with the NBA legend’s signature on the right shoe. Now up for auction on eBay for $250,000, the Nike Air 1 OG Chicago Player Sample—with a left shoe in size 13 and a right in 13.5—was kept in multiple safe deposit boxes to keep the kicks in pristine condition. California sports company, Upper Deck also authenticated the GOAT’s signature on the shoes in 1998. The iconic sneakers don’t come in original boxing, but that shouldn’t deter serious Jordan collectors.
To keep things on the up and up, the Air Jordan 1 listing is being managed on eBay by Auction Cause, and the sneakers will be authenticated before being shipped to the buyer, according to eBay.
Jordan’s sneakers have been having something of moment of late. Earlier this year, an equally pristine pair of the Nike Air Jordan 1s listed on eBay with the asking price of $1 million. And just this week, Jordan’s game-worn rookie-year Nikes became the most expensive sneakers ever sold at auction after hammering down for $1.472 million.
As for this pair of Nike Air 1 OG Chicago Player Samples, with just 523 views per as of writing, you may still have a chance to snap them up—that is, if you have a cool quarter mil handy.

Another new Air Jordan 4 colorway that will be making its debut in 2022 is the Air Jordan 4 “Zen Master” which is showcased below in new images. Believed to serve as a nod to legendary coach Phil Jackson who coached Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls during all 6 of their NBA Championships, the sneaker gets covered in an official color scheme of Amethyst Wave, Bright Crimson, Black, and Cement Grey. The popular model is highlighted by a tie-dye-like upper that is contrasted with black and red accents on the laces, tongue tags and branding, inner liner, mesh paneling, and midsole. Editor's Notes: Another week in sneakers, another heartbreak. It was only days ago that rumors started swirling concerning the return of the legendary UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Jordan 4, and already, they've been shot down.
First released all the way back in 2005, the sneaker marked a historical moment for all parties involved. The release saw UNDEFEATED become the first sneaker boutique to receive an exclusive collaboration with Jordan Brand, and it did not disappoint. Taking inspiration from the classic military MA-1 flight jacket, the AJ4 was decked out in olive nubuck with touches of black and orange throughout.
Limited to only 72 pairs worldwide, some via in-store raffle, one full-size run in an online auction, and the rest given to friends and family, the super-exclusive drop has fetched upwards of $11,000 on StockX.
It's understandable that fans would be excited for a rerelease, if not (unfortunately) for the resale value alone. As those hopes go up in the flames, another trusted sneaker insider, @zsneakerheadz, has revealed a mock-up of a consolation prize due for release this year – the "Olive Canvas" AJ4.
The similarities between the two colorways are clear, but I can't help but think the "Olive Canvas" is the "we've got...at home" of sneakers.
Regardless, there's no doubting that this colorway will sell, possible on its similarities to UNDEFEATED's pair, alone. If they're an easy miss for you, don't worry, the AJ4 has plenty of bangers in store for the year ahead, including the "Zen Master" and "Blank Canvas."
