- "The Best Thing" is the second single off Relient K's fifth studio album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago. The band's manager announced it on their messageboard on March 17, 2007 along with Capitol announcing it on several websites .

Day 32 of 365 - Best Thing Since...
Not everyone is going to get this, but I honestly don't care. I told myself I would do this, and I did do it... and executing an idea is in most cases a more relevant task than just having an idea that never gets executed. Which, while I'm on my podium, I just want to say is one of my goals of my 365 project... Come up with ideas and then follow-through. Everybody can come up with ideas, but not everybody will follow-through with them and make them happen... I want to be a "make it happen" kind of guy.
The motivation behind this came from a conversation that I had with a friend (D.A.) that went something like this (paraphrased):
D.A. - I LOVE foam core... it's light-weight, portable, and inexpensive. It's the best thing since sliced bread.
Me - [Thinking to myself...] {I'm totally going to do a self-portrait about loving foam core.}
